BC: "Vote for Hillary and power transmission lines will crisscross Montana"
Speaking just now in Montana, Bill said the only reason wind power wasn't being harnessed where the wind blows (i.e. Montana) was because there was no way to get the electricity onto the grid. So not only will the "Big Sky" state get the huge pinwheels, they'll get those lovely towers and cables strung border-to-border. Not sure that will play any better in Montana than pledging to put oil rigs off South Beach Miami.

1. Sigh
Where is the power going?

I'm no physics major however doesn't electicity lose power over long distances?

Otherwise couldn't we just set up a whole bunch of Nuclear Power Plants in WV and NJ and be done with it.

I kid I kid

3. There are losses, but the long distance lines have the voltage cranked up
That's why they string them so high, the magnetic fields generated can have some pretty serious effects and you really don't want them hitting anything that's could ground it.

It's easy for folks to have a similar thought:

Great idea, just NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard!)

Nuclear Power - NIMBY
Off-shore Drilling - NIMBY
Wind Turbines - NIMBY
Waste Dumps - NIMBY
Low Cost Public Housing - NIMBY

Am sure you can list many more examples if you just try.
