All about the NUMBERS!
Edited on Wed May-14-08 12:07 PM by indimuse
The short summary of these rules is that the Democratic Party of the United States A.) wants the delegate selection process to be open to all persons who wish to be known as Democrats; and B.) expressly prohibits the scheduling of delegate selection meetings that would "significantly reduce participation in the delegate selection process."

Now you tell me...with 38,571 Democrats participating in the Nebraska presidential caucuses and 93,757 Democrats participating in the Nebraska presidential preference primary, which method A.) opens the process to all persons wishing to be known as Democrats; B.) encourages the participation of all Democrats; and C.) does not significantly reduce participation in the delegate selection process.

Now I know what the 20,000 screaming Obama-maniacs would say. They'd say that rules are rules and Sen. Obama won the Nebraska caucuses.

But I would suggest that when more people participate in a so-called "meaningless" primary that doesn't count than participated in caucuses that did count, we know which process encourages the participation of all Democrats and which process allows a candidate to "game the system" in his favor. ((Which is WHY she will take this AAALLLL the way to the convention...REAL NUMBERS!!!)))

It's over and accusing others of 'gaming the system' doesn't help your case, it only makes you look foolish.

Factoid:: There is ZERO Caucusing in the GE.Which mean...Obama's NUMBERS will plummet!

Bingo!! You've got it!!! That's exactly why he can't win, and he would not be ahead of HRC in delegates were it not for the unfair number he was allocated out of caucuses.

He cannot win the White House!!

Go Hillary!!

12. Last time I checked.
Last time I checked all presidential nominee's need to win in Caucus's. I hope she and her campaign staff understood that going in. I mean it would look pretty dumb bitching about how caucus are unfair when in fact you knew about them way ahead of time and could put resources to make sure you won them.

Silly me.

5. Impressively desperate. And how does Hilly take it to the convention
when she's 20 million in debt? She's done. And next week she'll lose by double digits in Oregon. More delegates will defect. Her big donors are defecting. Her campaign is a wreck. It's over for Hilly.

18. I don't want her to drop out before she gets beaten in Oregon. Not for a minute.
And I don't have a problem with her staying in a getting humiliated until the primaries end. Let her get deeper in the hole.

Hilly the next president? Not a chance. Unless a meteor strikes Obama, she ain't gonna be the nominee.

6. The only argument needed to support the existence of caucuses.

I don't care if TWO people show up in each precinct caucus. It's going to be a more accurate vote than any machine.

20. Obama WILL win the GE
And you'll still be sitting in your corner, whining about caucuses and posting one right wing source after another.

Sorry..... don't even talk to me about eliminating caucuses until you can guarantee a valid primary in every state.

19. Try this...take total votes for Clinton and total votes for Obama cast through today...
Edited on Wed May-14-08 12:50 PM by DAGDA56
...don't bother using caucus totals, that's OK. Now, take either candidates totals and compare them to total votes cast for McCain. I don't have those figures redily available, but you should be able to find them if you want to. I will bet you that either candidates vote totals exceed those of John McCain. He has been getting 75% of votes in primaries where he is the only candidate campaigning. Again, basic raw numbers of votes likely show either candidate beating John McCain. Can we extrapolate these numbers to indicate a GE outcome? If so, either candidate beats McCain. If not, then there is really no point to your OP, is there?
