Poll question: Has Hillary reached an ethical point of no return?
Edited on Wed May-14-08 01:37 PM by ResetButton
Given her latest foray into divisive politics, has she made it impossible for you to vote for her and keep your principles?

1. Well beyond.
That train left the station in January, and that's only counting this campaign.

2. I have a deep anxieties about her desire for a catastrophe for BHO
I think that's a sick way to proceed.

I'll admit that if you do EVERYTHING to avoid bankruptcy it would inevitably include buying a $1 lottery ticket. BUT actually expecting the Lotto to save you is psychopathic.

I think she has passed the political point of no return. She has pissed off so many people and burned so many bridges that, if she doesn't somehow win the presidency -- and a huge Congressional majority to boot -- her political career may well be over.

If she drops out the primary and has to skulk back to the Senate, her effectiveness will be limited because she has damaged the chances of other Dems by sucking money out of the system -- there is only so much to go around. This will make her vulnerable to a challenge from someone who is really from New York.

If she manages to pull some skullduggery and get the nomination, but loses in November, she will be blamed for the death of the party. Millions of energized young voters will simply turn their backs on the party. Once the Clinton supporters begin dying off, the party will be on its way to oblivion.

If she wins the presidency, but lacks some Congressional clout --possible because her slash-and-burn campaigning has denied money to Congressional candidates -- her presidency will be a failure and probably one term.

I don't think she can leave gracefully at this point. She could have done that a few weeks ago, but it's too late now. It's like trying to leave a party "gracefully," after you've had too much to drink, puked on the carpet, and set the hostess's hair on fire.

7. Hillary has endangered her chances of retaining her senate seat.
I believe she may be unseated at the end of her term if she does not drop out very soon, and throw her full support behind Obama.

10. I agree, but her senate stint was only ever a launching pad for a presidential run.
This is her shot and she's going for broke ($$$)

P.S. another kick ass graphic.

9. I didn't vote in the poll....
but, I do feel that she has reached the point of no return. She would have to be the equivalent of Roosevelt, Washington, and Lincoln combined for me to ever feel happy about her Presidency. That said, I would still vote for the Democratic candidate in November. I don't care if the Dems nominate Woody Woodpecker against the Repubs Mohandas Ghandi, I will still vote Democrat. Fortunately, it won't come to that. Obama will beyond almost certainly be the Dem nominee. And, I'm afraid Sen Clinton's career will be finished at the end of her current Senate term. Her reputation forever tarnished; and dragging, to a lesser extant, the legacy of Pres Clinton's tenure in the White House. Too bad too. I used to have a geat deal of respect and admiration for both of them.

11. No, but I have.
If Obama supporters can openly hate a full 10% of the population, then I can openly hate a different full 10% (or would that be 9%) of the population.

18. How so?
I'll grant you supporters (like me) in DU have often been divisive, but what has Obama's campaign done that you consider more divisive than Clinton's?

20. Yes. I will not vote for her, ever.
If she steals the nomination, I am voting for Barack Obama.

To hell with it. If we get the nightmare scenario and Obama gets assassinated and Hillary assumes the nomination, I'm still voting for Obama.

Fuck Hillary. She's gone too far.

I think she is angling for a feminist showdown with the Democratic party. How fucked up is that?

24. Nope. What's at stake is still more important than what a despicable human she is.
But I won't lift a finger to help. And I will despise her until the end of time. She has reached a point of moral bankruptcy I can never forgive.
