Hey Hillary supporters! I would like to say that you are more than welcome
on the Obama bandwagon. All is forgiven and forgotten. I don't even care if you think Hillary would have been the better candidate or choice, as long as you support Obama in the GE I consider you a friend and allie. If I created hard feelings, my apologies. While I don't presume to speak for other Obama supporters, I think they have similar views. So join us in the long and difficult task of undoing 8 years of Republican damage!

They willfully denied her lies about, say, Tuzla and NAFTA - even lied themselves to say they WEREN'T lies when there's ironclad evidence she lied repeatedly to people's faces.

It's not a bad thing to feel shame after having done something bad... like ignoring clinton's undeniable lies. It's actually a good sign.

139. we should have a contest
I voted for my first Democrat in 1984 - Mondale-Ferraro. That wasn't my first election though, just the first time I voted for a Democratic. I think trof or CalPeg would beat both of us pretty handily though, probably voted for JFK. Are there any Stevenson voters on this board? My parents are old enough, but I think they voted for Ike. It took the Reagan Presidency to turn us into Democrats.

42. You're damn right I'm bitter
I'm bitter for the months those from the Obama camp have called Hillary supporters everything from racists to traitors. I'm bitter for the scores of longtime DUers and friends y'all have bullied away from this forum. I'm bitter that as a lifelong, loyal Democrat I've had to sit through some of the most vile, bigoted and shameful posts from Obama supporters against Appalachians, the likes of which would make Free Republic's bile pale by comparison.

And I can already see that anyone who doesn't agree to jump on your Obamawagon will be people you've determined need to be "weeded" from the Democratic Party. So little has really changed, has it.

136. Right... and all those vile posts denigrating Appalachian folks...
... gee, not even a hint of elitism in all that bile, day after day, thread after thread. Just when did you step in to try and stop it? It's still going on -- why don't you speak up if all is truly "forgiven and forgotten"? And before that, posters here denigrating Hillary voters as the "trailer trash vote" and worse. No, no snobbery there, by gum.

So what if you're a MoveOn member? Does that make you more of a Democrat than me? You don't know anything about me or the 40 years I've been working my butt off to advance democratic ideals. I'm a West Virginian, too. Does that make you a smarter, better person than me? And I voted for Hillary. Does that make me a racist, as some on this board have labeled any Hillary voters?

Now you're so generously willing to offer us "forgiveness" if we just hop aboard the Obamawagon. Am I speaking to the same poster who has bullied people around on this forum for months now, dispensing insults around the room like poison party favors? I don't need your forgiveness for supporting my chosen candidate. How freaking pompous.

56. Telling people who support a different candidate than you that
all is 'forgiven and forgetten' is extremely insulting. It's not like they were supporting McCain for cryin' out loud.

Your attempt at breaching the divide had good intentions, until you posted the forget and forgive part.

87. Riigghhtt. YOU forgive us? It was Obama people who called Hillary vile sexist names

and insulted her supporters, refused to have any discussion of issues and the candidates' positions, turned every thread into a flame war.

You seem to be a bit confused. The primaries are not over and Hillary is still the better candidate and will win in Denver unless the delegates decide to pick Obama and lose in November. It's clear that's what that weasel Howard Dean wants but that's not what most Americans want.

Barack Obama will never get my vote because he:

- lacks sufficient experience, started running for the presidency after two years or less in the Senate

- has been a slacker in office; he never has convened the Foreign Affairs subcommittee he chairs though he claims to be concerned about Afghanistan, has voted "Present" to avoid taking a stand on some issues.

- voted "Present" a lot in the Illinois Senate, too, and all his "impressive record" in the Illinois Senate was put together in his last year, when Emil Jones took over Senate leadership when the Dems gained the majority. Obama went to Jones and asked him to be a king-maker, or more accurately, a Senator-maker. Jones then "persuaded" other senators to let Obama take credit for bills they'd been working on for years. Chicago politics.

- can't articulate his own positions without a teleprompter.

- has more baggage than Samsonite (Ayers, McClurkin, Meeks, Odinga, Rezko, Wright, etc.)

- lied about his relationships with those people of questionable character. DUers hated * for lying about Ken Lay, but the Obama supporters here don't care about all of Obama's lies. That's called hypocrisy, people.

- has never won against a real opponent. He's won by getting his opponents out of the race, one way or another, just as he's tried to do this year by declaring himself the nominee when he does not have enough delegates to win the nomination.

- might break McGovern's record if he's the nominee by not winning a single state.

If Howard Dean manages to get his revenge on the party by getting the convention to nominate Obama, I will write in Hillary Rodham Clinton for president. Many others will do the same, while other Clinton supporters will vote for the Green or for Nader or even for McCain.

A lot of us are re-registering as Independents or Greens to send a message to the party. Some are actually considering re-registering as Republicans because they are so angry at how the party "leadership" has behaved. BTW, if HRC chose Obama for VP, I'd write in somebody else. He's not ready for prime time, period.

Obama's recent snide remarks and disrespectful gestures toward Senator Clinton have only heightened our resolve not to vote for him. He really showed his ass and most of America saw it.

There's a calm surrender to the rush of day
When the heat of the rolling world can be turned away
An enchanted moment, and it sees me through
It's enough for this restless warrior just to be with you

And can you feel the love tonight
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight
How it's laid to rest
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best

There's a time for everyone if they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn
There's a rhyme and reason to the wild outdoors
When the heart of this star-crossed voyager beats in time with yours
