Prediction: Edwards is Veeping it with Obama
Mark my words, he is the balance for the southerners who are afraid of a black president.

19. Yes! Edwards would be a fantastic AG--and he'd give that sinkhole of
cronyism, corruption, and anti-Constitutional zombies a cleaning from top to bottom. I dream...

6. I think this time Edwards helps in North Carolina a lot
Obama is different than Kerry. Obama can energize the youth vote and African Americans, and John can go for those working class dems. I think we could take NC without him, but this time I think he definitely helps.

8. wrong. JE is a one term Senator with no other relevant experience
who was on the losing ticket last cycle. Obama has to counter the attacks of the repubs on experience. JE couldn't even help in NC 4 years ago. No way will he be picked.

10. In other words Edwards is a whore
nothing wrong with being a whore but he waits until his endorsement is irrelevant to jump on a bandwagon, willing to run for VP twice in a row. Lordy, Elizabeth does have the testosterone in the family.

17. I have voted for
every democratic ticket since 1980. I hope that passes your litmus test. If Hillary was ahead in the votes tonight, Edwards would be kissing her butt. Endorsements prove themselves to be irrelevant daily (with the exception of those made by large groups.) I am no fan of anybody endorsing anybody, but Edwards tonight is nothing more then a self serving whore. Is his endorsement worth more then a five buck lucky dog (with onions and mustard) on the corner of Bourbon and Orleans at 7:00PM on the 14th of May 2008? NO!

before you were born (and before hot dogs were $5.00 anywhere). Hillary is not ahead.

27. Relevance?
I was born in 54 and fail to see relevance in your Post My Friend. Hillary is not ahead does not mean Edwards is not a whore. Edwards endorsement is worth less then a five dollar hot dog and you know it. If he thought it were so valuable why did he not offer it months ago? When I was months younger. Because in his conniving mind he thought ole Hil might get the nomination then I'd give my endorsement to her. Two shots at a bucket of warm spit! Please tell me he is not a whore.

30. What does Hillary have to do with me?
I have been a General Clark supporter since 2003 and continue to be. (Go ahead tell me he's not a candidate.) Edwards is a whore, if Hillary were ahead he would be kissing her ass. If I have pissed off Obama supporters then we are on the way to a tie. Although I will have to do a lot more pissing off to make things even, because so many Obama supporters have been downright incorrigible and I don't have a dog in the fight.

I will vote for the (D) nominee in November as I have since 1980. If mccain wins, then I will be an extremely sore loser.

I have been doubtful, because he already did that once. But the speech certainly did make it sound like he was in it for more than just an endorsement.

14. Bull. We're not running anymore on the basis of "afraid of a black president."
Anyone "afraid" of our nominee isn't going to give him their vote under any circumstances.

I mark but reject your words. And give Edwards more than a little credit. He might just want to end this thing on the basis of a candidate he prefers.

people speculate that the endorser is going to be veep. I wouldn't put Edwards on the short list. There are other, more popular Southern White Males that Obama could use.

20. Nope. Meet your new VP candidate (I'd put money on it):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janet_Napolitano
Summarized:

Napolitano was born in New York City. Dad was the Dean of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.

She has partial Italian heritage on her father's side and was raised a Methodist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her early professional career was as a Phoenix-area prosecuting attorney and as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona.

In 1991, while a partner with the private Phoenix law firm Lewis and Roca LLP, Napolitano served as attorney for Anita Hill. Anita Hill testified in the U.S. Senate that then U.S. Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas had addressed her inappropriately ten years earlier when she was his subordinate at the federal EEOC.

As U.S. attorney, she was involved in the investigation of Michael Fortier of Kingman, Arizona, in connection to the Oklahoma City bombing. She ran for and won the position of state attorney general in 1998. Her tenure focused on consumer protection issues and improving general law enforcement.

She won the gubernatorial election of 2002 with 46 percent of the vote. In November 2006, Napolitano won the gubernatorial election of 2006, defeating the Republican challenger, Len Munsil, by a nearly 2-1 ratio.

In the 2010 Elections, Napolitano is term-limited, so some say she is considering challenging John McCain for his U.S. Senate seat or running for the open seat should McCain retire or be elected President in 2008. She has also been seen as a possible Vice-Presidential candidate for 2008.<3>

Policies

Advocates education and immigration reform. As a governor, sought funding for the public education system, health care programs, teachers pay, state government workers pay, and prison employees pay. Signed legislation that offered voluntary full day kindergarten throughout Arizona.

Opened the nation’s first state counter-terrorism center, signed legislation for a prescription drug card for seniors and signed into law property and income tax cuts, which were proposed by the Republican legislature.

In her first year as governor, the state's budget improved from a billion-dollar deficit in the year after the September 11, 2001 attacks to a billion-dollar surplus, without a tax increase. Every budget Napolitano has signed has been balanced.

Defends education spending as "investing in what matters", citing the benefits of academic achievement and economic growth.

Says illegal immigration is urgent and needed to be solved through comprehensive federal reform.<11> She was the first governor to call for the US National Guard to be placed at the U.S.-Mexico border at federal expense and succeed. In July 2007, she signed state legislation designed to penalize employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants. Previously, when Arizona's voters passed Proposition 200, which would not allow illegal immigrants to collect welfare benefits, Napolitano opposed the measure.

***

Tough on law and order but respects the constitution, leader in counter terrorism. Pro education, healthcare, immigration reform. Can work with conservative Republicans, into cutting taxes AND balanced budgets AND increasing spending on 'what matters'. Great speaker, really down to earth and easy to like. Looks like Mom. Female and 100% self-made woman. Outstanding electoral performer. Knows McCain like the back of her hand. Presidential material, no question.

I say she is the best VP pick by a mile.

31. How sweet that would be, and probably she can.
But even aside of that, look at her resume - it's outstanding. Gets women voters, direct opposite of elitist. Obama handles world affairs, restores constitution, national dignity. Napolitano rock solid on the home front, both for politics and policy, perfect mesh of ideals. GOP reduced to complaining about Obama's ears.

Seriously, this is a steamroller combination that could allow us to look beyond 2 terms.
