Reality Check: Almost all is forgiven, even if not forgotten, in politics
Edited on Wed May-14-08 06:17 PM by nadinbrzezinski
the Primary is OVER... and right now emotions are way, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, WAAAAYYYYYY too wound up

So we have people posting the horrible HRC posts and how she is not welcome et al

Hell, there are rumors that she's been given the cold shoulder on the Hill and we know SHE WAS given the cold shoulder on the Hill by many members of the House.

Yep, that is reality

What is also reality is... that she may have a couple hard years in the Senate if she chooses to stay in the Senate... but

Lets look at history shall we? In fact, 1980 to be specific. That was an ugly campaign and Senator Kennedy became "dead to me" for many folks, in the Hill even

Care to tell me where he is these days? Just one of the most powerful men in the US Senate and an elder statesman in the party

Just remember this...

And I am not looking at a crystal ball (but history is good for this)... depending on how much heels are dug in... and how long it takes for her to exist stage left... just how bad this pariah status will be..

That said, almost all is forgiven, if not forgotten, in Politics.

Ah the ability to see this from the standpoint of NOT being my first rodeo, or not getting psychologically involved with ANY candidate.

1. I have been thinking about Ted for the last several days.
There are parallels. We cannot afford to lose any good liberal voices in Congress, any hard working Democrats.

Politics is in Clinton's blood. This will pass and she will have her place in the Senate and in history.

I still believe that many people have behaved shamefully toward her. DU has a lot to answer for, and the so-called MSM has even more. But when have they ever been decent to Democrats, particularly Democrats named Clinton?

2. Senator Clinton was conciliatory towards Obama tonight, and that's the tone we need to take towards
each other. We know that Obama is going to be the nominee, and we need to let Clinton finish it out on her own terms in winding down her campaign.
