The sad fact is that for whatever shameful reason, they kept up their divisive, below-the-belt (I'm being polite) scorched earth campaign for months past the point where they should have been helping build the party, not destroy it and then stick it with a $20 million debt.

Hillary can get just what she wants for America, a Democrat in the White House. Even if she is in the Senate, (what about Cabinet, even?) things will be better for her. They agree on most policies and issues, anyway. She can bring the party together in an instant if she wants.

Or, she can keep campaigning in a race she has a 3% chance of winning so that she can ultimately lower the chances that her party wins in 2008.
