17. I agree. It's not going to happen, too much bad blood...
But it's not going to be John Edwards, either. He's been there and done that, and has taken on the status of senior statesman. They were talking about Chuck Hagel on the news, which makes absolutely no sense, given his party. It's going to be somebody that we're not familiar with, based on past elections...

37. Well, yes, and I'm just listening to a reprise of Hillary's interview on KO,
where she's saying that she believes she will be the nominee. *sigh* I'd love to see Edwards, since he was my choice after Dennis dropped out, though I was realistic about Dennis, both now and in 2004. I honestly believed that Edwards was the most "electable," but Obama has the momentum, and he'd do well with Edwards as a part of his cabinet... :-)

3. My email to Danno on the topic:
Your continuous drum pounding for a VP slot for Hillary is disingenuous, much like the media's calliope music for a non-stop primary. As a matter of fact, she has not "earned the right to be Obama's vice president" as you suggest, since no such right exists. It is the sole right and responsibility of the nominee and his advisers to make the choice of a running mate who will create the best balance for the ticket. There exists no bronze medal or consolation prize here.

19. I find myself yelling at the tv often
We've had Charles Gibson asking during a debate if both would "take a pledge" to run together (silence). I've seen Tweety pushing this, and Brian Williams asked her again tonight "wouldn't you both be better together?" This meme is just going to become stronger as her campaign winds down. Not looking forward to it.

5. In Hillary's dreams!
I could just see her as VP, opening her mouth every chance she gets and undermining Pres. Obama, and Bill staying in the tabloids with his horndog ways.

That would be a good way to ensure we only hold the White House 4 years.

18. KO only lets people that share his viewpoint talk.
He rarely invites anyone on his show that doesn't completely agree with him (and therefore, invites the same 5 or so people every single time). His "questions" and "guests" are just simply alternative methods to spreading his own views. Find me the most recent KO show where he disagreed with one of his guests.

Abrams actually makes sure the panel is balanced, by inviting people that disagree with him.

There's also a NJ expression that, although ridiculous, does capture his essence:

38. I know, it sounds non-sensical (because it actually is), but it's said in part of NJ
(with a certain intonation that I can't duplicate without the audio) in a derisive way
about someone who's very much impressed with himself.

Oh, yeah - he really thinks who he is!

It sort of doesn't translate into writing since attitude is a big part of it.

pretty much cinches that the best I can do is listen and not watch. But he's like a dog knawing on the same bone night after night. He could AT LEAST change his rationale every now and then for raising the exact same issue - you know, make it interesting for the viewers.

Just a thought...
