I do not understand
Okay so the pollsters tell us the Obama is loosing votes to Hilary from white blue collar workers. Then why he is doing well amongst white farmers. This just does not make sense to me. He is expected to win in places like Iowa against John McCain in a general election match up. But forget West Virginia he stands no chance even Ohio is going McCains way against obama in the latest polls. Does anyone have an answer for this?

1. I'm sure it has to do with his "guns" remark....WV is hunting territory. Just my two cents

2. That would make sense
but farmers also believe strongly in the "right to bear arms".

3. Just thought I would point out... Most farmers I know are college educated
My FIL owns a farm that's been in the family since the early 1800s. Everyone in my DHs family is college educated, some with multiple degrees (MIL as well). I think you're selling farmers short. It's tough work, with little pay - but it's rewarding work. It also takes an extensive amount of knowledge to run a successful farm. My ILs primarily produce apples, peaches, grapes and then the typical market fare produce for variety.

Farmers I know in Ohio, and central IL - all educated with Ag degrees.

Part of that working class demographic that HRC does so well with, is the uneducated/no college - just to note.

4. I did not mean to be offensive to farmers
But you are right farming does take a lot of work. Many of the farmers I know as well are college graduates educated. Thanks I think you have answered my question
