The thing about Oregon is that
Edited on Thu May-15-08 12:37 AM by CreekDog
it's not gone!!! it's right there!!!

with a remarkable population:

(now unemployed, so sorry :( )

and don't forget the population of the eastern high deserts:

(typical far eastern Oregon family)

also one of only two remaining habitats for an endangered species:

sometimes it pretends to be New Mexico:

or Arizona:

and is a place where many famous movies were filmed:

and it's one of my favorite places. :hi:

31. Actually, a LOT of former Californians have moved here
in recent years. Eventually, we'll get them assimilated. Some however, have grown moldy during the winter, and moved back to the land of eternal summer. Hey, we do have some of the best beer to cope though.

7. Oregon is my second home.
Grew up there, and my family still lives there (in the Eugene/Springfield area).

Both my sisters are voting for Obama. Not sure about one of my brothers; haven't asked him about how he's voting. And my other brother is a BushBot, so I'm pretty sure he'll go for McCain in the GE.

14. When we moved here (from Chicago) via a road trip, we spent our first night in Oregon in Ontario.
Then went through a hellish snow-storm early the next morning where we almost didn't make it. Nothing makes you appreciate nice weather than driving in a full on blizzard and only being able to stay on the road by following the red taillights of a truck in front of you.

26. yeah, I don't know exactly where that one was taken but
my Mother's Day was ruined when we were at my daughter's and my husband's Principal called him and asked if we were home because there was a big fire near where we lived. We panicked as we came through the 1998 fires before and started home about 30 miles away. I called the neighbor and she said the neighborhood was ok but not only was there one but two fires, in two opposite directions about a mile from us each way. And, it was a VERY windy day....

They did get the fires put out and later discovered that one of them was started by three little kids, ages 4, 6 and 6 who were playing with a lighter.

It is supposed to rain Friday but not before we get high winds again. So, no, please no ROFLing....not this week anyway.

49. I reside in California. I LIVE in Oregon.
Much of my family lives in the Newport area, and I'd reside there too if I could get a decent paying job. I own a small software services firm and teach adjunct at a local college, and neither of those ventures would be successful outside of Portland. Sadly, Portland is saturated with software firms.

So I stay here, make the money, and visit my family and my properties (I now own nearly 60 acres on four lots between Newport and Cape Perpetua) when time allows. It's not often enough.
