Harold Ford Jr up bright and early kissing Bill and Hillary's ass on Morning Joe!
Edited on Thu May-15-08 05:56 AM by my3boyz
He is a pathetic excuse for a man. I'm so glad he lost his senate bid. He basically said that if Obama does not do better in Kentucky (because of Edwards endorsement) then it would be a concern for Democrats. Then he said Bill had a good point about needing a revote in Florida. Yet, he keeps calling Barack his "friend". Go to hell Harold Ford Jr.

4. Oh and he kept saying over and over that he agreed with Pat Buchanon
Pat would say things about Barack and then Harold would agree with him. PATHETIC! The other poster is right. I'm going to stop watching it.

As a Tennessean, I still would have preferred him to the idiot Corker. Ugh.

7. Yeah, he was certainly a disappointment, when he was early on in his
career, did not realize he was more interested in feathering his own nest and power grab than his constituency or the people. DLC all the way.

11. Harold Ford, Jr's worst calculation was challenging Nancy Pelosi as then "minority leader" because o
the notion that "she's too liberal." :eyes:

DLC = corporate loving democrats.

13. Harold Ford disappoints
me.

That he is for HC is fine with me.

That he is talking like Pat B. is the problem.

14. Exactly, doesn't bother me about anyone supporting Hillary, that is a personal
choice as much as mine supporting Barack. It is his viewpoints and how much he agrees with Buchanan that bothers me. Also, he has joined with the corporate dems (DLC) who I don't agree with.

15. Harold's entitled to his own opinion
I think that Hillary as a V.P. is a legitimately debatable issue. I think that he's not eager to take Pat on too harshly though. No doubt that MSNBC was flooded with e-mails calling for Pat's resignation, so he doesn't need to pile on.

I do think that Pat is wrong with his Kentucky argument. First, the Edwards endorsement won't change Kentucky much. It's only 5 days until their Primary, so he can't do much campaigning in Kentucky from now until then. Also, the endorsement wasn't in Kentucky, so it wasn't meant to greatly impact the Kentucky Primary.

16. Yeah, Rachel Maddow has the classiest and most forceful retorts to Pat Buchanan.
Could we say that, in comparison to Ms. Maddow's blazing retorts to this racist old fart, Harold Ford, Jr., is a shrinking violet?

17. Rachel Maddow is the best
but she and Pat wouldn't get along well enough to sit on a morning show panel together. Morning news shows are supposed to be on a happy note whereas the evening shows should be all-out political punditry warfare. I'm sure that Rachel will get her own show soon though. They'll probably replace 'Race to the White House' with a Rachel show. The biggest question is what format will they give her. She would do well in a Countdown format, but they don't need a duplication of Olbermann's show. Probably something analogous to Hannity & Colmes. I would love to see Rachel tearing up a Republican every night on every issue.

21. yeah, I saw bits of it this morning.
I am used to him agreeing with Joey Scarbs on everything, but he was definitely in tight with Pat this morning. So, is their new metric that Obama needs to win Kentucky?

Also, did anyone catch Mika talking to Obama's Communications Director and start off with "Can Edwards really carry the weight of the Obama campaign? I mean, he IS a losing candidate."

Carry the weight of the campaign? I don't think anyone expects that except the assholes he think that the Edwards endorsement is meaningless unless Obama can now win Kentucky.

22. Yes he is chairman of the DLC! Yes he says my friend Obama
He is right within the mainstream of DC thought.

Do I think he is Pat Buchanan's boot licker?
NO! Absolutely not.

Do I find the ways he is conservative and seemingly distant/above it all disturbing?
YES.

I wish he had won that contest in TN for Senate.

Pelosi has not been that impressive in the House. I don't think Ford's challenge to Pelosi was over the top either. If he really felt the base of support among Democrats was conservative, he had every right to challenge Pelosi.

Whether he wants to be U.S. President or not, I get tired of hearing about first and onlys. If you think for a minute Obama will be the only candidate from a mixed background that runs and wins the Democratic nomination, then you should reconsider the impact of your remark. It is offensive.

Obama was not the first person of black heritage that had the courage to run for the nomination. He would be the last. He also isn't the only one who has the audacity hope things could be better in this country.
