National Quinnipiac Poll: Obama over McCain by 7; white voters favor McCain by 7 over both dems
Obama vs. McCain: 47-40
Clinton vs. McCai: 46-41

Independent voters favor Obama over McCain by 48-37
Independents are tied in a Clinton-McCain race 41-41

Men vote 45-44 McCain over Obama
Men vote 46-42 McCain over Clinton

Women vote 49-36 Obama over McCain
Women vote 51-36 Hillary over McCain

White voters favor McCain 47-40 over Obama
White voters favor McCain 48-41 over Clinton

Black voters give Obama 87% of their votes
Black voters give Hillary 79% of their votes.

By a 49-42 percent margin the gas tax holiday is opposed; Independents oppose it 56-38.

1. Interesting poll results
As the party unites behind Obama, Obama's numbers strengthen against McCain. If the convention is all about uniting behind Obama, then I think that he will open a double digit lead against McCain.

The white voter results should also put to bed the meme that the media has been spewing.

4. If Clinton is not in it at the convention I think it will be a very successful convention for Obama.

5. She has the power to strengthen our nominee
or create chaos and weaken our nominee. She will be a pariah if she chooses poorly.
