Clinton Supporters To Protest Outside Ohio Democratic Party Headquarters Today
As I was making my children's lunches this morning I thought I heard the local NPR news person say that Clinton supporters were planning a protest outside of Ohio Democratic Party Headquarters today. I thought I had heard it wrong because as many of you know our Governor, Ted Strickland, has been heavily featured alongside the Clinton Campaign (it unfortunately earned him the label Governor Bobblehead). He held a Clinton supporters thank you party at our Governor's Mansion. How could the Clinton folks be upset when perhaps the most prominent Dem in the state catered to Hillary Clinton? So I googled and found this:

Obama, Clinton supporters to campaign in Columbus

Associated Press - May 14, 2008 6:15 PM ET

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A labor union endorsing presidential candidate Barack Obama brought a national campaign to Columbus today addressing the need for comprehensive health care changes.

The Road to American Health Care, sponsored by the Service Employees International Union, planned a Statehouse rally featuring Ohioans struggling with health care costs.

Separately, a group supporting Obama's opponent in the Democratic primary, Hillary Clinton, said they will protest outside Ohio Democratic Party headquarters in Columbus tomorrow.

The group calls itself "Clinton Supporters Count Too" and promises to highlight what it says is unfavorable treatment of Clinton by the party. The group says it will campaign against Obama in the swing states of Florida, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania if he wins over Clinton.

1. Her supporters also protested outside the DNC...while saying they were not her supporters.

It is too often not about party or being a Democrat, it is about her campaign.

Democrats know there is too much to lose if McSame is elected, so a true democrat wouldn't do that after we have a presumptive nominee.

14. They are going on O'Reilly tonight.
Clinton backer backlash

My colleague Beth Frerking reports on something we're likely to hear a lot more about in coming days: Grumblings from the almost-half of the party, disproportionately women, whose candidate is losing.

"An Ohio-based group of Democratic Hillary Clinton supporters say they’ll work actively against Sen. Barack Obama if he becomes the nominee, arguing that Clinton has been the subject of “intense sexism” by party leaders and the media.

Led by Boomer-aged women, the group, Clinton Supporters Count Too, is holding a press conference in Columbus at noon to release this statement.

Organizers Cynthia Ruccia, 55, and Jamie Dixey, 57, both from the Columbus area, say they’re coordinating women, men, minorities, union members and others in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and Michigan – all important swing states next November – to impress upon Democratic party leaders what they think has been outright discrimination – and not of the racial kind.

“We have been vigilant against expressions of racism, and we are thrilled that the society has advanced that way” in accepting Obama as a serious candidate,” Ruccia said. “But it’s been open season on women, and we feel we need to stand up and make a statement about that, because it’s wrong.”

With growing calls for Clinton to leave the race, she said, women feel like “we’re being told to sit down, shut up, and get with the program.”'

Hard to know what to make of any given group, but the sentiment is clealry out there, and putting the party back together will be Obama's, and Clinton's, challenge.

Oh, and they're doing O'Reilly tonight, of course.

20. Hillary needs to actively denounce this before an Obama group threatens the same thing.
I'm not trying to pin this on Hillary - she can't be held responsible for what a few crazy-assed supporters do in her name. However, if she denounces their actions while asking them to come back to policies they supported when they voted for her, it would yank the rug from under their feet. After that, they'd no longer be "Hillary supporters" and no longer be news.

this is part of her trying to blackmail the democratic party into making her the nominee. I'm beginning to think that this big surprise that will sink Obama isn't anything Obama has done. I'm thinking its her nutbag supporters taking to the streets threatning to help McCain.

39. Anyone suprised!
The Queen will be president and should she lose the primary the only way she can achieve that is if Abe Simpson is elected that way in 2012 we will have a nation potentially worse off than it is today with an open seat in the WH. If Obama wins Hillary would either have to run against an incumbent in 2012 for her own parties nomination ( someone who she could not beat with every advantage in the world ) or hope that the Obama administration implodes..

Her best hope is a McCain win in the general then she can say 'I told you so' and run in 2012.. in 2016 se will be up on McCains age and will have to settle like Ted Kennedy into a permanent senate position..

typical selfish, victim mentality of hilary's supporters(who learned from the top). 55. INSANE.
Their candidate didn't win, so they're going to sabotage the frontrunner with protests about "unfavorable treatment of Clinton by the Democratic party"? In what universe does this make sense? Voters voted, Clinton started strong but didn't hang on to her lead, Obama is in the process of locking up the last of the delegates he needs to be officially declared the winner, the end. This not "unfavorable treatment of Clinton" - it's called losing. Unfortunately, all but one of the candidates will do this in every election. That's the way it works. I'm boggled that grown women can't deal with this like, you know... grown women.

WTH is in the kool-aid? :eyes:
