Clinton defends Obama from Bush

She told reporters:

President Bush’s comparison of any Democrat to Nazi appeasers is both offensive and outrageous on the face of it, especially in light of his failures in foreign policy. This is the kind of statement that has no place in any presidential address and certainly to use an important moment like the 60th anniversary celebration of Israel to make a political point seems terribly misplaced. Unfortunately, this is what we’ve come to expect from President Bush.

From an Obama supporter that hopes that chimpy's statement -- and McCain's endorsement of it -- makes everyone here at DU realize that for all of our partisan in-fighting, at the end of the day, the things that unite us as Democrats are crucial to preventing four more (or longer) years of the madness we've faced the past eight years. I've said all along that either Hillary or Obama can win. And either can lose. To win, they both need the same thing: a unified party. Without it -- it doesn't matter who the nominee is.
