Hillary took money from an 11 year old and ADMITS it?
I certainly hope she bought that poor kid a new bike, because it's beyond vile that she would not only accept such a donation, but actually use it as a political talking point. She knows she lost the nomination, and has no qualms over taking 400 dollars from a child? What does that say about Hillary Clinton?

And who are this kid's parents, to allow such a thing? Is this what it has come to? A multimillionaire taking money from a child for a lost cause, and using that donation to score political points?

:puke:

1. If she doesn't make back her $11 Million loan to the campaign, she'll only have $90 Million left.
How can anyone possibly live on that?

28. Actually, she declared $109, but then an extra $24 million was discovered that Bill made
and Hillary hid it by using a loop-hole dealing with a spouse's income.

So a re-calculation is in order.

However, any way you look at it - give the kid back his bike and videos, for God's sake!!!!!!!

2. I actually thought it was a nice story.
The kid did something unselfish.

Besides, look at the political skills this kid already has. The former President knows the kid's name and Hillary is using him in her stump speech.

smart kid.

8. That totally blows my mind. The kid sells his bike and toys and they take the money.
I'm serious, that they should have taken the check long enough to hand it back to mom (the kids mom not HRC).

9. Grow Up
Edited on Thu May-15-08 08:19 PM by Crisco
When an 11 year old kid busts their butt to make a contribution, you don't decline that contribution. You don't tell them, "sorry but it won't make any difference," not unless you want them to grow up to be a loser.

It's to be expected a gift of some sort will travel through a back channel.

12. oh for pity's sake. there's absolutely nothing wrong with what she did
the kid wanted to do it, and there's not one thing wrong with that or with his parents letting him. I'd be proud of a kid who was that civic minded and willing to sacrifice for something he believed in. Your post is what's puke worthy.

15. We got 4 supers
and 7 Edward's delegates today. We are 128.5 delegates from the nomination and will pick up 50 on Tuesday leaving us 78.5 from the nomination come Wednesday. At the current rate of Supers we will be 50-60 away from the nomination on Tuesday.

Focus on McCain. Hillary means nothing now.

29. I agree.
A child can contribute if it is what is wanted. The $400 figure is relative....is the child is from the working poor class, that is a huge sum for a child. If, on the other hand, the child gets an allowance of $400 per week and gets chauffered to school in a limo....then the $400 is relatively less. In any case, the child's PARENTS hold the responsibility a bit....more than the recepient of the gift. I find it hard to believe the parents did not know about the gift, and if they let it happen, it is not Hillary's bad.

16. I enjoyed the story
I think you mean that Hillary Clinton's campaign accepted the donation. It was given of the young man's free will. I think you really mean to criticize him. Or maybe you don't think he is old enough to make decisions that involve money.

22. This is not about Hillary...
it is about the child. i greatly admire such a child even though I am not all that happy about his/her choice of a cause. It is pretty amazing that an 11 year old would have the capacity to care so much as to do this for a cause outside of their own personal comforts. The story here is that their are such little persons who do care about their world and can look outside of themselves in such an altruistic way. I hope, hope their are more such little persons with that capacity...because if so there really is hope for our world.

It's like some gift of yours or something.

This is hands down the dumbest damn thing I've seen from anyone here yet. You trivialize yourself. Ain't anyone of any merit that would have respect for things like this. You are catering to the dumbest of the dumbest, and yet you seem proud to do so.

One word: Pathetic.

34. If the kid had $400 of her own to spend
who are you to say she couldn't spend it on HRC? Children often get very enthusiastic about causes, and sometimes go to great lengths to help out when they feel strongly. They will probably have different ideas about what they should support when they are older, but they are always to be praised for caring enough to sacrifice their time or wealth. It's a good habit that should be encouraged. And I can think of a lot worse things for a kid to spend money on than a Democratic candidate.

of how tone-deaf her whole campaign has been. She lives in a world where $400 is pocket change.
