Foreign Policy and National Security comment by W ignites the ire of prominent Dems
and changes the discussion to one that puts McCain in the spotlight with his experience.

And we go along with it willingly even encouraging the media to run with it.

Amazing isn't it?

Bin Laden releases a tape, W makes an inane comment and America is back looking at who best can handle Foreign Policy and National Security.

Not the economy, health care or any domestic concern.

3. It also puts into focus, again, that McCain is running for Chimpy's Third Term.
His policies are no different. The American People will know that very well in the coming months.

5. The policy of defending Israel has been every POTUS policy
Obama has a different policy in mind?

8. The policy of using fear and trumped up terror to divide
us into voting against our better interests.

Obama supports Israel, and will support Israel as President.

7. An issue that strongly ties him to W. Anything that can be used to tie McCain to Bush is good.
But I'd prefer it on the issues you'd mentioned.

9. Bush, McCain and now Obama agree
no talk at any level, or so says Susan, Obama National Security Adviser on Morning Joe

I guess Obama changed his mind from, what was it, July of 07?

10. Seems her views have changed too

Susan E. Rice, a former State Department and National Security Council official who is a foreign policy adviser to the Democratic candidate, said that “for political purposes, Senator Obama’s opponents on the right have distorted and reframed” his views. Mr. McCain and his surrogates have repeatedly stated that Mr. Obama would be willing to meet “unconditionally” with Mr. Ahmadinejad. But Dr. Rice said that this was not the case for Iran or any other so-called “rogue” state. Mr. Obama believes “that engagement at the presidential level, at the appropriate time and with the appropriate preparation, can be used to leverage the change we need,” Dr. Rice said. “But nobody said he would initiate contacts at the presidential level; that requires due preparation and advance work.”

Mr. Obama has been clear in making a distinction between his willingness to talk “not just to countries we like, but those we don’t,” as he puts it, and Hamas and other political movements similar to it. “Hamas is not a state,” Mr. Obama told a Jewish group last month. “Hamas is a terrorist organization.”

11. If the election is fought over foreign policy, that's a HUGE WIN for Democrats.....

65% of America agrees with us on the Iraq war.

12. Obama got OWNED by Boosh on this one, I hate to say.
He didn't even mention Obama's name and Obama jumped like a trained attack dog.

Obama should have ignored him.

Sadly, Bush got the reaction out of Obama he wanted.

13. Agreed, a rookie mistake
He made it change the national conversation.

You would think he would have learned by now that being on the defensive is not the position of power.
