Obama to Give a “Very Vigorous” Response to Bush Today - Watertown, SD, 11:00 ET.
Aide: Obama to Give a “Very Vigorous” Response to Bush Friday
Friday, May 16th, 2008

Top foreign policy adviser Susan Rice tells MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Obama intends to strongly rebuke the President’s suggestion he and other Democrats support “appeasement” of terrorists.

Also calls Bush’s remarks an “outrageous, unprecedented, divisive attack.”

Obama is scheduled to hold a town hall in Watertown, South Dakota at 11 am ET and a rally in Sioux Falls at 7 pm ET.

3. This is the only way for the GOP to redeem itself now
Is for the congressional GOP to stand up, impeach and prosecute Bush, Cheney & Rumsfeld at least.

They can sign on to articles already proposed.

That could start their rebuilding process.

Now Day Two, Obama can own the news cycle to respond.

4. I see Bushie's remarks as a twofer
1) He smears the Dems
2) Dems respond by being more like the repugs - or at least that is what Bushie wants. I hope O doesn't respond by being more like the repugs.

24. The GOP attack plan:
Edited on Fri May-16-08 08:33 AM by formercia
As soon as they were sure Obama is the Candidate to beat, they use Junior as an attack dog to keep the heat off of mcCain, that way they can be as outrageous as they want without it sticking to their nominee.

I'm sure that Obama is wise to this.

Huh ... where did you come up with that thought? I have heard nothing close to a whine.

This cycle of news is great for Obama since McCain refused to condemn the outrageous remarks it allows Obama to run against Bush (perhaps the most unpopular politician ever).

Sent THAT to Olbermann, Pass THAT around, let's HELP Obama get word out there that he won't touch because HE is too CLASSY..

But I ain't :)

Here's my answer in the Form of a Classic Flash I created years ago that lays it all out, with entertaining music by Spike Jones.. called,

"Bush is Not a Nazi, So Stop Saying That.."

25. Obama needs to drop the hammer on the war criminal *
This is why the republican party is doomed. They don't have the balls to stand up to Bush on any of his outrageous statements and actions.

The republican party is a party of traitors, they have sold the entire country out to Saudi oil sheiks and chinese slave labor factories.

Republican TRAITORS: You DO NOT go to a foreign country and give a speech attacking your fellow americans!

Thats the problems with the damned republican party. They think they alone ARE america!

I got news for them. The real america is going to come ROARING BACK this fall assholes!

Barrack Obama and all of us will take back OUR country and make her a great place for all the people!

The stench of rotting flesh hangs low over the zombie republican party. Lets all gather together this fall and bury it once and for all!

35. Responding to something that wasn't even directed at him?
What are they doing? So when "some people" are referred to by a clown who cannot run anymore and is basically an irrelevant pariah, Obama "just knows" its directed at him and feels the need to respond?

He's sounding really defensive. Will not help him.

42. Literally EVERYONE other than loyal repukes disagree with you. Bush’s gift to Obama!
From Chuck Todd, Mark Murray, and Domenico Montanaro
*** Bush’s gift to Obama: When President Bush -- thousands of miles away in Israel -- decided to fire his thinly veiled shot at Obama yesterday, it was a giant gift to the Illinois senator and his campaign. Why? One, it essentially kept Clinton on the sidelines just two days after her big West Virginia victory. Two, Obama’s opponent was no longer Clinton or McCain, but the man with the 27% job-approval rating. And three, it rallied Democrats to Obama’s side. Even neutral Dems, like Joe Biden, Rahm Emanuel and Harry Reid, quickly leapt to Obama’s defense. Some Democrats might be deeply divided right now. Pro-choice women are angry at NARAL’s endorsement of Obama; Clinton supporters are upset that Obama is looking like the eventual nominee; and some African Americans are unhappy with the Clintons. But what’s the best way to unify them all? Give them an excuse to turn their attention to Bush. And this will all play out another day -- and will likely extend into the weekend -- as Obama will respond this afternoon to Bush at his rally with Tom Daschle in South Dakota, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell reports. Obama will react to both what he considers Bush's politicization of foreign policy and the substance of Bush's attack.
