Erratic: having no fixed course; characterized by a lack of consistency; deviating from what is ordinary or standard.
In this one word, I believe we have a descriptor for McCain that also is a meme-maker. It connotes flip-floppery, forgetfulness, errors of fact, senioritis, bumbling, and a general state of being out of touch. It evokes age without mentioning it and without evoking wisdom to accompany it. It describes someone with a quick fuse and someone who can't manage to show up at work to vote. It precludes one from serving as commander in chief. It suggests lack of coherence and unfitness. It renders experience obsolete.
We can use ERRATIC in almost any situation to do a lot of heavy lifting. McCain's stance on tax cuts for the wealthy is erratic. As of yesterday, his policy on timetables for the Iraq War is erratic. His voting record in the senate, often against his own bills, is erratic. His positions and actions on campaign finance reform are erratic. His opinion of Hagee is erratic. His stance on negotiating with Hamas is erratic. Yes, it's becoming apparent to all of us that John McCain IS erratic. He's too erratic for you. He's too erratic for me. He's too erratic to lead this country.
Whenever he says or does anything from now on, remind people how erratically he's behaving. When he ties his friggin' shoes, it's going to be just another example of how erratic he really is.
"Doesn't he seem erratic, you know, the way he breathes?"
"Yes, his inhaling especially seems erratic."
"I think his hair seems erratic."
"Yes, I've thought that for years about his erratic hair."
Say it with me now. Erratic erratic erratic. John McCain is too erratic to lead anything, much less this country.
