Washington:
Obama: 51%
McCain: 40%

Oregon:
Obama: 52%
McCain: 38%

If the Dem nominee were Clinton:

Washington:
Clinton: 47%
McCain: 42%

Oregon:
Clinton: 46%
McCain: 40%

6. I'm cautious
of all state GE polls this far out from November, but I have a very hard time believing that Oregon and Washington will be swing states in the fall. McCain would be wise to spend his resources elsewhere.

8. That's true. I think though all the GE polls up to now show Obama very competitive in OR and WA
and that's good. He's going to surprise a lot of people with how well he does in the west, I believe.

These 2 states were close In both 2000,and 2004.The electable debate Is over.Obama Is the nominee.
Also a strong showing by Obama can help defeat Gordon Smith In Oregon and help keep the Governorship
In Washington.

15. Gregoire is a solid administrator and a really lousy campaigner
There are more than a few politicians who are hundreds of times better at holding office than at campaigning, and this particular one has endorsed Obama. She knows she needs coattails.
