51.  I just googled this and got all kinds
of negative crap coming up so I only know that wingers and m$$$$fm are trying to use it as a wedgie..

<snip>

"Flying back from a Grand Rapids, Mich., rally to Chicago (where he will spend a day off tomorrow), Obama told reporters that he decided to start wearing the flag pin again after a veteran handed him a pin at an event in West Virginia and said it was important to him.

“I’ve never been opposed to flag pins,” Obama shrugged when asked about it, adding that he stopped wearing a pin when he disagreed with how the Bush Administration equated a flag pin with patriotism and the war in Iraq.

He also said that the controversy is a “phony issue” and a “commentary on our politics” and how it deflects from real issues that affect voters’ lives.

The Democratic front runner has been dogged by his earlier decision not to wear a flag pin as opponents have jumped on it as a reason to question his patriotism. But the pin magically appeared again ahead of the West Virginia primary on Tuesday."

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/05/14/obamas-flag-pin-reappears/

"magically appeared"?! Dig! Dig! It didn't magically appear..he put the thing on.

Yeah, your sig line is Amazing with all those little Peace Signs intertwined in the colorful African looking "OBAMA"B-)

54. So he's received them from two different vets.
One in PA (IIRC) and one in WV. :patriot:

Thanks for the info, zidzi! B-)

Now the media can add a new level to their stupid flag lapel pin game. They're beyond the "why won't he wear one?" to "is he or isn't he wearing one?," and "if not, why not?" :silly:

Wear it every time one is given to you by a vet ~ when questioned give the name of the vet and how long he served in this stupid war.

And...what benefits he will get for his service.

40. That's nice, but it's still against the flag code.
Obama should point out to all the faux patriots that, until he IS Commander in Chief, it is against the flag code for him to adorn himself with the US Flag. It's disrespectful

Only military, emergency service personnel and the CIC are allowed to wear the flag.

Flags are not supposed to be worn, used as decoration or used in advertising.

You'd think some of these so-called right-wing patriots would know the US Flag Code... aww... who am I kidding. They run off emotion and not reality.

30. McCain = Bush
Is his theme in terms of Middle East foreign policy. Really nailing them and linking them together as if they're twin brothers. McCain was an idiot for jumping on the Bush bandwagon on his Nazi comments. One of the most powerful lines was how Obama said that he will welcome a debate with McCain any place, any time. He also said during his SD town hall meeting that the Bush/McCain foreign policy attacks are because they know that they can't win on the merits. He even implied that they were naive for continuing the same failing foreign policy.

45. Bush lying = McCain flip-flopping
Happens so much that nobody bats an eye when they do it. If we found out tomorrow that Bush lied about something else, no big deal. Not like he's been telling the truth or anything. McCain has changed his position on so many different issues that it's hard to keep up with what he now believes.
