Is It Just Wishful Thinking On My Part Or Has Barack Obama Stimulated.......
the Dem party to grow some balls and take on *Co? The party seemed to come together on *'s comments in Israel yesterday followed by the tip in by McCain. Now today - * has backed down and will stop pumping oil into our reserves. I have to say that this came because of the prodding of the Dems and the sinking of the Repug party. The farm bill passed.

What else could we be seeing soon?

1. I think the party AND the media are spurred on.
The media is having fun with this.

HOWEVER, what is with Mitt Romney? Is he the new spokesman for Bush and Company? McCain? The VP prop? McCain's replacement?

2. I think everyone smells blood now
For too long, everyone was terrified of this White House. Now, there is absolutely no fear of it at all. So, they are going at it like hyenas on a crippled wildebeast.

6. I think it's more shutting down the DLC
and the Clinton leadership which SUCKED. No this is not a cheap shot, it's putting together bits here and there, and reaching the conclusion that we lost more in the 90's than we gained, and when we needed fight the most, we got reconciliation. Journalists got skewered on Iraq because they listened to Clinton Administration Advisors, and they still won't expose the truth on that point. They've been wrong on just about everything and the real Dem Party has finally figured it out.

12. One advisor comes to mind, Terry McCauliff (sp?)
He didn't help Gore, Dean or Kerry. Matter of fact we lost leadership in the party under his rule.

13. On Iraq, Albright, Holbrooke, Cohen
Here's a good comparison, especially this:

While Susan Rice has emphasized how globalization has led to uneven development that has contributed to destabilization and extremism and has stressed the importance of bottom-up anti-poverty programs, Berger and Albright have been outspoken supporters of globalization on the current top-down neo-liberal lines.

Obama advisors like Joseph Cirincione have emphasized a policy toward Iraq based on containment and engagement and have downplayed the supposed threat from Iran. Clinton advisor Holbrooke, meanwhile, insists that "the Iranians are an enormous threat to the United States,” the country is “the most pressing problem nation,” and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is like Hitler.

10. No. Bush is the most unpopular President in history. We could elect a dead cat right now.
Edited on Fri May-16-08 03:31 PM by onehandle
The GOP did this to themselves.

And keep in mind that Obama may be the overwhelming favorite around here, but in the real world he's slightly ahead of Hillary.

The Democrats are getting balls because it's easy at this time.

11. The American people respect strength...
...and as we saw with Bush, it doesn't really matter if its misplaced, or faux strength. Obama displays strength of character and conviction, and the Democratic party is following suit, and people are liking it. And it's about frickin time...

15. It took one person to stand up and say "I am not afraid"
and the rest began following suit.

It was like that moment when Toto pulls aside the curtain on the Wizard of Oz.
