I must admit that alot of her feelings about social justice were passed on to her through her catholic school (no flames please - it was the only school that offered a full day kinder for a kid who was already reading at a 4th grade level).

I had never thought of pushing that sort of thing on such a little one, but what she misses most about her old school are the trips to the food pantry, etc. I know I can do it with her too, it's just hard to find the time these days.....

THAT'S the ONLY legitimate role of government ... social and economic justice. Fair, equitable, and compassionate treatment of ALL human beings and respect for ourselves AND our planet. Even 'Democrats' often lose sight of that. It's essential.

If she can hold onto that VERY VALUABLE insight as she grows and learns, she's ahead of most folks. It's (literally) precious.
