Dan Abrams just now: "Huckabee has just now apologized".
Alleged that Huckabee put out a statement that he had not intended to offend re: Obama/Gun comments. Anybody else catch that?

1. yep, Huckabee was Fuckabee'd
Not good, expect a Youtube on that.

Huckabee was trying to be cool, but I can't remember the exact words.

A chair fell down while Huck was addressing a group of NRAers, and he
said something about a gun shot and Obama hitting the floor.

It was stupid.

2. What took so frigging long???
He takes what, about 8 hours to apologize for a comment about shooting a candidate for president?

I don't think it was a "joke." He's a sick mutha. Maybe he ought to keep an eye on his son, and make sure he doesn't hang any more dogs.

6. To WHOM was it addressed? Can't find anything citing his apology on google.
Did he apologize TO Obama or was it just a generic "I'm sorry if my words offended anyone"? I'd like to see his exact wording.

8. complete bullshit. IT was a horrendous joke.

Makes no sense that someone would point a gun at Obama. Him falling off the chair would have been cutesy enough.

He said he didn't mean to disparage Obama. WTF? He was trying to insult him regardless even if it was insanely offensive.

9. Found a link. Pathetic.

Update | 7:30 p.m.: Mr. Huckabee just released a statement, apologizing:

"During my speech at the N.R.A., a loud noise backstage, that sounded like a chair falling, distracted the crowd and interrupted my speech. I made an off hand remark that was in no way intended to offend or disparage Sen. Obama.
I apologize that my comments were offensive. That was never my intention.”

13. He doesn't get it.
It's not a matter of offending or disparaging Obama. It's a matter of the thought even being in his brain. He needs to apologize for being an idiot, not just for what he said.

10. Am I the only one who gets really scared whenever
Dan says "Breaking news tonight!" It's usually not even breaking news (Huckabee's apology was read on Countdown), but there's always this urgency in Dan's voice that makes me feel like it's the end of the world or something.

Did anyone catch Dan's show so far tonight? They kind of did another Republican smackdown. I don't know the name of the Republican strategist, but Dan and the other guests were just openly laughing at him after some point. Dan brought up the hypocrisy of the Bush administration with Korea, and the Repuke said "Well..that's different. that's talking." or something ridiculous and Dan said "Ohhh? Ohhhhh???!" I wish that the guests caught him on this Republican trying to use the "appeasement" bullshit, but no one defined it for him. Then the Republican tried to go the "This comes back to haunt Obama because Bush isn't running this year!", but he had no resonse when the other guest asked him to name one instance in which the economic and foreign policies of Bush differed from McCain. And then the repuke actually had the balls to try and sayt that Obama was "flip flopping" today, leaving a huge opening for them to bring up McCain's Hamas flip flop. Everyone just laughed at him when he tried to defend it.

15. I agree about Dan's voice.
He has that "calamity" note in his voice. Freaks me out every time.

14. Huckabee belongs with Pat Buchanan....they are both bigots....
How horrible was that statement? I thought I might even like Huckabee but he needs to stick to Saturday Night scripts and not write his own. Bad slip of the tongue, or was it intentional?
