NBC's Mitchell: Clinton Campaign Acknowledges It's Over
There's no disagreement in the media that Clinton has no chance of winning this. She would have to get 90% plus in all the remaining states.

MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell reported on MSNBC that Senator Clinton knows the race is over. "It's been apparent ever since North Carolina and Indiana did not go as she wanted them to go".

"She has changed her rhetoric and for the first time now her people, her closest aides ... are acknowledging she is not going to win this."

16. Sorry, it's hardly just Mitchell.
Seriously, how on earth do you see Hillary getting the nomination at this point? She's split from Oregon- isn't campaigning there at all over the next four days. She's fallen further behind in pledged delegates due to JE pledged delegates switching to Obama and to more PDs being added to Obama's tally in NC. Do you understand how unlikely it is that she'll get the nomination?

32. Mrs. Greenspan (R) has been misquoting Hill since the 1992 primary...

When Andrea caught up to Bill and Hillary in a cafe talking with voters during that primary, she asked Bill if having a wife who had her own career (worked at a law firm) might be a liability. Most politician's wives didn't work. Hillary drove herself to work every day.

Bill said, "Ask Hillary. She is sitting right behind me."

Hillary said that supposed she could have stayed home and given teas, but wanted to work toward helping women have options to work or not work at various times of their lives, as they saw fit.

Andrea took the first part of what Hillary said and smeared it around the corporate-consolidated media (which sold us Bu$h over Gore, over Kerry). I GUESS I COULD HAVE STAYED HOME AND HAD TEAS!!

This was just after Bill and Hillary were being hounded by the non-issue of Whitewater. McDougal didn't even have a savings and loan position when as a personal friend he asked the Clintons to buy some land with him. Hillary saw it as an investment for Chelsea's college fund. The New York Times broke the "story" and claimed it was a conflict of interest because McDougal was head of a Savings and Loan (when the article was written, but not when the Clintons gave him some money to invest).

Mrs. Andrea Mitchell Greenspan will be on the bandwagon for Maverick McCain soon!

52. Bullshit - Bush has been blaming Greenspan as an excuse for his failed econ. policy!
Greenspan would never have taken the Federal regulatory controls from off of the banking industry the way Bush did.
The housing slump was manufactured by the Bush administration and Greenspan never would have approved of bailing out mortgage companies the way Bush has done this year.

38. Well, it's pretty clear by now THE SYSTEM wants Obama...
... the MSM likes his story, his fuzzy 'hope and change' message that doesn't saddle the plebeians with too many brain-twisting specifics. They know that if he's in the race, that the GE against McCain will be much more 'competitive', and will make for a more interesting story.

And the fact that she works for General Electric, I'm guessing, comes into play as well. McCain, an angry old militaristic war-monger, of course wants to increase military spending in the face of all logic saying we should pursue other priorities. General Electric, one of the biggest defense contractors, is of course going to benefit from having a president like that. So, why bring in a solid candidate with policy know-how, when you can have the ambiguous and inexperienced young candidate, who certainly stands a better chance of losing.

It's just business for Mitchell. And if you don't believe that, think about who she's married to.

42. You seemed to miss the broader picture I was referring to ..
... the system is the entire political system allied with the media - the ones that form most people's opinions for them, tells them what they want to wear, eat, drink, and buy, and who it's acceptable to vote for. The System I was referring to was not just the Democratic party.

Edited on Sat May-17-08 09:16 PM by HamdenRice
Maybe she and Bill could buy a contract pig farm from Tyson, construct a pig refuse slurry pit, and retire.

Maybe she, Bill, W and Laura could compare notes on slurry pit management.

Because a lot of us Democrats are tired of them, and this would be an appropriate retirement venture for them.
