Will An Adult Finally Prevail?!

The fact is, despite McCain’s heroic military service during the Vietnam war, the quality of his character over the forty years since warrants scrutiny of the most critical kind. McCain’s life of power and privilege so closely resembles that of George W. Bush that the prospect of a John McCain presidency is cataclysmic. Though he lays claim to high moral standards, McCain, like Bush, will do anything to win - even if the result is the tragic death of innocents. John McCain, like George W. Bush, chooses warfare over negotiation and blood over words. It’s the Bush-McCain commandment of Thou Shalt NOT Speak which devolves into Thou - SHALT - Kill. They simply undo the "NOT."

It’s the sand box mentality again and again. For adult-children Bush & McCain, it’s bombs on hand - not buckets of sand. Will an adult finally prevail?!

For those who doubt the similarities of Bush & McCain, let's take a closer look:

- Bush & McCain both come from families of power
- Bush & McCain both were “partying” youths
- Bush & McCain both were poor students
- Bush & McCain both had powerful fathers and grandfathers
- Bush & McCain both were accepted to excellent schools due to their families
- Bush & McCain both pursued the careers of their fathers and grandfathers
- Bush & McCain both were given jobs through family affiliations
- Bush & McCain both are sarcastic
- Bush & McCain both relish power
- Bush & McCain both like to dominate
- Bush & McCain both are quick to anger
- Bush & McCain both make reckless statements: “Bomb Iran”/“Bring ‘Em On”
- Bush & McCain both have dominant mothers
- Bush & McCain both are ruthless competitors
- Bush & McCain both want to win at all costs
- Bush & McCain both refuse to negotiate
- Bush & McCain both want to attack Iran which can cause the Third World War

Now compare Bush & McCain to Obama:

- Obama came from humble beginnings
- Obama barely knew his father
- Obama went to high school on scholarship and loans
- Obama admitted “partying” as a youth
- Obama became an stellar student
- Obama went to University NOT because of his family
- Obama went to the top of his class
- Obama got jobs on his own merit
- Obama worked at the community level
- Obama struggled with student debt
- Obama married a woman of humble means
- Obama was elected to office without family help
- Obama is measured and steady
- Obama is not quick to get angry
- Obama believes in negotiation
- Obama wants to preserve peace
- Obama believes in war as a LAST resort
- Obama is an adult

Obviously, anyone reading this piece can fault me on the subjective nature of my comparisons. Nonetheless, the similarities between Bush & McCain are undeniable – as are the differences between Bush & McCain and Barack Obama. Watching Obama’s calm, measured and thoughtful responses lead me to believe that he – the youngest of the three – is clearly more adult.

For the past seven years the United States has been led by George W. Bush’s juvenile American exceptionalist ideology – which is similarly shared by McCain. America cannot survive another President with this dangerous, counterproductive and childish mentality. America desperately needs an adult.

That adult is Barack Obama.

4. a majority of the country would have
to really want an adult as President. Might be too much of a "come down" for the (false) ego for some to tolerate an adult compared to the crap we've gotten over the years. I think "Bush on the Couch" applies here-- we currently have an unstable dangerous, malicious, out of control alcoholic as President. It's becoming more and more apparent to the public how sick Bush is by how he's been ruining the country and virtually everything he touches.

5. That adult is Barack Obama........McCain is Bush's Poodle .....
The Hill - Brent Budowsky

....What has earned McCain the right to the mantle of Bush's poodle is this:

Bush twists, distorts and misrepresents history and is the only president in our history to make low-road attacks on a political opponent while abroad. Reagan didn't do it; Ford didn't do it; George H.W. Bush didn't do it; Roosevelt and Truman didn't do it. Jack Kennedy didn't do it and even Richard Milhous Nixon never did this in his darkest days.

Bush did it, and John McCain was reduced to joining Bush on the low road to demeaning our politics, our democracy and the presidency.

John McCain should have known better, but when George Bush initiated one of the lowest moments of a low road presidency, John McCain could only say, "Me too," which makes him a serious contender for the title of Bush's poodle.

Barack Obama stands tall and presidential leading an army of Democrats firing back, while John McCain looks like another small Bush Republican in an age when America wants nothing more than Bush Republicanism to fade into the dustbin of history.

7. Based on this, the ONLY difference between Bush and McCain, is that...
...Bush's family would allow him to avoid military service, McCain's would not.

9. Basically, anybody can be a Barack Obama. . .or a Bill Clinton.
You have to be born a John McCain or a GW Bush.

13. Thanks for pointing this out!
Very good to remember why McCain is just more of the same. It will really be so grand to have a real person without a trigger finger temper to remain calm. Bush and McCain and so many rethugs are just showing their single digit real age. One must believe they have small appendages, really miniscule tally-wackers, why else try to prove they are so tough all the time!!
