Obama is not black or white, he is US! He's not an elitist, corporatist,
he wants to fight for all of us. What's so difficult to understand about that?
I think the man has the gift and grit to do the best for all of us. It beats the hell out of what we've had to deal with for the past few years. McCain is more of the same, Barack Obama is the new way. What is not to like?

Yes, he hasn't been proven in this situation, but who has? It feels good to me.

2. Yes, he is black. And it's just fine. It's nothing to be scared of.
He can still be us, and be black. Just like he can still be us and be male.

7. " If obama believed any of what he is saying then why did he ever
allow the racist divisiness his campaign launched against Hillary and Bill Clinton? Why didn't he fire Jesse Jackson Jr. when he used the racial card against Hillary? The fact is that Obama can give a good speech, but that is all he has done. He doesn't live up to his words. They are empty bullshit".

14. OK. Which Dem will you be voting for, and your bullshit is just that.
Edited on Sun May-18-08 01:11 AM by babylonsister
Are you a Dem or aren't you, do you want the most progressive person or don't you? Bill Clinton, in SC, was the dawg who dissed black people. Ask Kennedy, Kerry, Leahy, and Clybern about that. PS No one else has addressed the gay issue, so why that's a big deal to you I do understand, but don't get. Baby steps, perhaps?
So, you don't like Obama. Who is better? And bet me, you're wrong. Baby steps could lead to big strides.

And for what THE FUCK it's worth, Clinton was the annointed one. Check your history and your hate.

28. if mcsame had pulled four anti-gay activists out of his ass
to inroduce and campaign for him at a critical juncture in his campaign -- du would have burned him eternally for it.

now i have dear friends in the obama camp -- that i would defend like a mama bear -- but i have seen you tear down a very good senator -- and hold up like a religious fanatic barack -- knowing that it is more than stressful for many many lgbtiq duers.

you can make your uneducated guesses what i think.

30. I think you're taking this way too personally, and for that I'm
sorry. I didn't and don't agree with all aspects of Obama's campaign, most particularly McClurkin. I have yet to see a perfect candidate though. And yes, I do have real issues with Clinton, ones she's only made worse during her campaign.

But if you think my posts are a slap or slight to gay Duers, I am sorry as they are not meant to be at all.

31. then please think -- think about that moment -- because it has real meaning.
some of it going back as far as the 19th century -- which i'm not asking you to know about --

but just think about this --if lgbtiq people counted up a couple more blips on the population screen -- that event you would not so easily be tossing off as the lack of perfection in a candidate.

now -- in reality -- i'm not a hillary supporter -- so i'm not saying make a switch -- but i am saying that what happend in sc was sinister.

and it deserves deeper consideration by people capable of doing so.

13. Obama is black AND white. He is us. He is the American Dream. At least, he is the epitome ...
Edited on Sun May-18-08 12:59 AM by Triana
...of what the American Dream was meant to be for everyone. That's why they're trying to destroy him. They've been trying to destroy the American Dream for decades. Ever since FDR's New Deal and before. The corporatists, the Republicans, The Robber Barons, the Neocons. They've been trying to destroy the American Dream for their own profit at the expense of everyone.

How to stop that? Elect the American Dream as President of the United States so we can be led by the vision and ideals of what this great country was MEANT to be for everyone and not just for a privileged few.

Make the American Dream our leader. Not Obama per se, but the ideals he represents and the ideals we know he'll fight for as President. We don't have to let them continue destroying our future and our dreams.

NOT.

THIS.

TIME.

Can we stop 'em?

YES.

WE.

CAN.

If we're led by our dreams and the ideals of opportunity for all - and the leader who will promote them because he LIVED them: Barack Obama.

27. Agree.
There's really nothing not to like, unless you are feeling threatened by the prospect of "business as usual in Washington" changing.

A President with a Democratic majority, many friends in the Senate and an agenda to kick the "money lenders" out of the government. This guy is dangerous. He will absolutely get things done. About effing time!
