Obama, Clinton hone critique of McCain

ROSEBURG, Ore. - As the votes are being counted Tuesday night in Oregon and Kentucky, Sen. Barack Obama plans to hold a triumphant rally in Iowa, returning to the state that propelled him to the top of the Democratic field and sending a clear signal that he has shifted his focus to the general election.

Obama advisers said Iowa is one of several states, along with Missouri, Michigan and Florida, that they have targeted for wins in November and where they plan to campaign even before his primary battle against Sen. Hillary Clinton ends. Obama made campaign stops in Missouri and Michigan last week and plans a three-day swing through Florida starting Wednesday.

"John McCain has gone unchallenged for far too long, and we need to start laying out the argument that Barack Obama is the better choice," said Jen Psaki, an Obama spokeswoman, referring to the presumptive Republican nominee.

2. Yes, and isn't it ironic that it will likely be KY delegates that will put him over

the Pelosi number. The "white working class" voters of OR will be icing on the cake. As an old white granny, I am sick and tired of that false "white working class" mantra.

I am going to shake all the bushes in MO to get more voters registered. It will be tough but fun here in SW MO---home of the most conservative voters in the state.
I imagine I will also trek up to the St. Louis area, where my daughter lives, and help out there as well. WE ARE GOING TO WIN MO for Barack this fall!

10. I was inspired by John Kennedy and walked door to door for him at age 15.

That is another reason why I love Barack. He has inspired the youth of this country, just as I was back in 1960.


I have been a Democratic activist ever since, and a committeewoman on two different occasions ( the last time, I resigned in protest, when Sen Carnahan would not listen to my pleas to vote NO on the IWR. I was working as a volunteer in her local Senate office here in Springfield at the time). I believe she truly regrets that vote now. I believe it had a lot to do with her not being elected for a full term. She was appointed to fill the seat of her husband, Mel, who died in a plane crash but still won the election. You may remember the "dead man beats Ashcroft" for Senate in MO.

I would STILL vote for Mel over that fascist pig John Ashcroft.

John Kennedy takes us both back a ways, but John Kennedy is still alive in many ways. I think the comparison some make between Obama and JFK is fair and justified and believable.

In fact, the main thing I know about farming is that I like to eat. And Iowa does border Illinois, separated by the Mighty Mississippi River.

fact that ALL Iowans are farmers. Not one Iowan makes a living doing any other single thing.
