Poll question: Should Democratic Underground call it?
If she takes it to the convention, we're talking about over 3 more months of this nonsense in GDP. Should the admins call it?

2. As much as we all know Obama has it
Until it is official, I say keep GD: P open until the Primaries are officially over, whether that be June 3 or when a presumptive nominee has been chosen (and all other candidates have dropped out).

4. People need to stop doing this. Skinner made it clear in the edict "A Few Reminders" --
we don't have a presumptive until one of them drops out. Everyone should know this by now, it's pinned to the top of the board.

What people MAY be unaware of, however, is a specific Skinner answer to objections people may have to this, on the same "A Few Reminders" thread:

116. How do you know there will be a presumptive nominee before the convention?
What with all the talk of superdelegates, etc., isn't it possible the nominee will be decided in Denver and not before?

121. I don't.
Primary infighting ends when we have a nominee -- either presumptive or actual.

5. Does "call it" mean "prevent people from posting in GDP"?
Edited on Sun May-18-08 04:56 PM by Boojatta
If people can't post in GDP, then they might post GDP-style posts anywhere and everywhere on DU. You aren't required to participate in GDP either actively or passively. Do you want to prevent others from participating in GDP?

6. Aren't you being a little presumptive?
DU would lose a lot of members if they listened to your wisdom/advice. That's money right out of their pockets. You ought to learn to think twice before you offer advice to Skinner and Co.

10. If Gore endorses, it's over.
IF Dean calls it, it's over.

IF Pelosi endorses, it's over.

There's certain signs to look for.

Most of all, I think it should go to June 3. Let Hillary finish the course. It's not important for Hillary so much as it;s important for future woman candidates.

As the first serious woman candidate for president, she has to finish out the race.

12. Man
you guys really ARE desperate to turn this into your own little echo chamber.

Skinner has made it very clear what DU's intentions are - why do we get multiple threads every day like this? You're acting like spoiled children.

13. Taking it to the convention only helps McCain and...
it shows the Clintons want the Democrats to lose in '08 so that Hillary gets another crack at it in '12.

16. Let her go through June 3. If she wants to. Then, it's over,
This won't go to the convention. Dem leaders won't allow that to happen. And I don't think Hillary will do that.
