Bob Shrum was hilarious against Pat today on Morning Joe.
Edited on Mon May-19-08 07:29 AM by ErinBerin84
Did anyone see this? Bob Shrum completely called Pat Buchanan out on his ridiculousness. He said that Pat was now obsessed with West Virginia and that it's his new favorite state, and he's ignoring that Obama made a strategic decision not to campaign much there. And then he called out Pat for his stereotyping of Oregon and then said "Pat...I wasn't going to say what you told me on air, but I'm going to. A woman came up to you in an airport and said 'I want to thank you so much for defending Hillary Clinton'...and you just kept walking onto the plane! Because you have become Hillary's greatest champion, but everyone here knows that you DON'T LIKE HILLARY AT ALL!" Shrum then said that everyone was trying to sell the narrative that people are just going to drink the Kool Aide that the Republicans are selling and completely ignore how badly they screwed up the economy, and that it just wasn't going to happen like that. Then said that everything was going to change once Obama and McCain were side by side in a debate, because Obama is going to have an awesome case to make against McCain on national security. And then Mika or Willy said "Yes, but...Hillary's victories have revealed weaknesses in Obama's electoral map." and Shrum said "And he will have the resources to compete in the general election against those weaknesses, and everyone is ignoring all of the weaknesses that a Hillary Clinton candidacy would have on the electoral map!" It was really hilarious when he was getting on Pat for his Hillary advocating, Shrum and Mike Barnacle (who I generally think is a douche) were completely laughing at Pat.

I turned it off when Howard Wolfson came on. I just couldn't stomach that this morning.

1. Sorry I missed that...
...but I just can't stand Joe in the morning - or afternoon.

Be patient, in a couple of weeks Wolfson will be off writing his book.

2. Joe is actually still out.
He has a baby on the way that is coming early (haha, that makes it sound like he's the pregnant one. Can you imagine a pregnant Joe?) , so he didn't come in today even though he was supposed to be back. His substitutes weren't any better though, the usual suspects of Mike Barnacle, Pat Buchanan, Mika and Willy.

I am still expecting Howard to end up as a Fox news analyst for the general election, I swear.

3. Oh, thanks for that...
...I had no idea - I know Mika said Friday he would be back Monday. Thinking he was just taking regular vacation time. Hope the baby is okay.

Wolfson on Fox - what a concept - then I'll never see him!

4. lol...Mika is asking Wes Clark about VP possibility
and he keep deflecting the answer..."Hillary is so strong! Hillary is such a strong campaigner!" and Mika is like "Yes. we know. There's no question about that...but sir, some people are saying that the math doesn't add up" and then Mike Barnacle asked the question and Wes Clark said "This is not about me...this is not about me." Oh god, he just said that Clinton was way behind in Indiana and still won. That's ok, I still really like him for a VP possibility.

5. I'll be so glad when Clark can stop "pimping" for Clinton
It pains me to see him reduced to a (temporarily) delusional pro-Clinton talking head.

10. I would have loved to see that but I can't watch that show
Mika is so rude and hateful-ugh-and Joe can be. I am sorry to hear about his baby possibly coming early and I hope everything is OK for his family. Man, I would have loved to see Shrum expose Buchanan for the hypocrite that he is. He has been saying stuff he doesn't believe for so long I think he has started to believe his own BS.

Buchanan acts like he is the biggest HRC supporter in the country and I know from listening to him in the 90's that he hates both of the Clintons. I heard him on the McLaughlin Report on PBS yesterday and he embarrassed himself. Who is he really trying to fool with this Hillary love/Obama hatred? He could care less about the Dems. The only thing he cares about is getting a Repub-any Repub-elected in 08. If Hillary got the nom he would turn on her in a heartbeat. Does Pat think anybody believes his silly BS? I've been listening to him on TV since CNN came on the air so I think I know what his real opinions are by now.

11. If Bob Shrum wants to go on TV and battle with Pat Buchanan, that's great.
But for Christ's sake, keep him the HELL away from Obama's campaign!!
