Michelle: No Way Would I Say "NOT" To '1 of Most Successful-Powerful Women On This Planet'

Michelle Obama on GMA this morning says she didn’t say that she didn’t want her as her husband’s running mate, adding: “I think the world of Hillary Clinton, particularly as a woman…There is no way that I would say absolutely not to one of the most successful and powerful and groundbreaking women on this planet.”

6. It would put her in a quandary, though
Since she has stated she would have to "think about" working for her.

10. Why? Does Hillary saying that Obama isn't qualified to be CiC
put her in a quandary. People say things in the heat of a campaign. They almost always go by the wayside once it ends.

25. Not only that she obviously wants to be put on the ticket as VP
I think it would put Hillary in a "quandary" to want to take back seat to someone she claims is not qualified to be President. That is what she has said time and time again.

14. have you ever consulted your wife/husband/significant
other on any important decision in your life? I'm betting bucks that Obama consults his wife at least as much as Bill did with Hillary. Spouses play a large role in the race.

16. Isn't a good portion of Clinton's campaign centered around Bill Clinton's presidency?
Edited on Mon May-19-08 12:46 PM by SemiCharmedQuark
A lot of her experience argument comes from the experience she claims to have picked up while Bill was president. So which is it? Are spouses important or not?

This quote from the suntimes.
At another stop, in Atlantic, Michelle said she travels with her husband in part "to model what it means to have family values," adding "if you can't run your own house, you can't run the White House." She didn't elaborate, but it could be interpreted as a swipe at the Clintons

and this ?Text of GMA quote.

ROBERTS: So what if Senator Clinton defeats her husband, becoming the first woman nominee. Could you see yourself working to support the first woman nomination?

OBAMA: I'd have to think about that. I'd have to think about that, her policies, her approach, her tone.

ROBERTS: That's not a given?

the only people who I have seen interpret that as a "swipe" at the Clintons are Right wing shit stirrers. As for the second part you added, I agree, she should not have said that she would have to think about campaigning for Hillary. Though Clinton supporters always leave out what she said after that quote.

34. media smear
that was debunked by youtube. But thank you for drinking the Fixed Noise kool-aid.

If you look at the ENTIRE quote around the "if you can't run your own house, you can't run the White House" quote, you would realize how off base you really are.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=RzDXVCe3ipc&feature=related

Watch the youtube video quoting her. She was clearly talking about how she is focusing extra hard to make sure she's doing a great job raising her two daughters, because if you can't run your house now, you won't be able to run the White House. Now stop using this smear.

39. No, it's not a given.
After a campaign like this, if Hillary had the nomination, it would be time to take a long, well deserved rest. After all, SHE'S not the one running for office. SHE'S not the one immersed in politics. She's just speaking on behalf of her husband, and if he is out of the race she has every right to go back to her own life.

OTOH, if Hillary were to really reach out to her and ASK for her support, she might consider it.

All hypothetical, anyway. That's life in a parallel universe. In this world, Obama is the nominee.

It was a really, really nice interview. They both seemed so human. The dog bit was fantastic, and her answers wrt Hillary were very gracious, and honest.

Good work Michelle. We love you!!!

37. I actually think the dog part was the best
They switched into kitchen-table mode in an instant. Obama went from Obama the Candidate to Obama the Father. That part of the interview will SELL with a lot of families.

Btw, I think he was pretty cool with the "they have got to be really careful"-part as well.

So as long as we don't care what Novak is spewing, then I guess you're right, we don't care that she denies what Novak claimed she said.
