I'm a Nielson Family for a few more days...so what do you
want me to watch on TV for you? Right now I have CNN on but I made sure that the last few days I watched MSNBC, especially Countdown. Did you see that Rachel got the highest ratings Friday? I am glad to do my part.

Anyway, I'll watch the most requested shows tomorrow since we all know the results of the Primaries already....

Requests being taken for the next 24 hours.

(Is this the same as lobbying?)

5. omg, you should see my diary already....I have
five televisions in my house and only two of us to watch them. But, I have CNN going nonstop on one, the local news on another, and MSNBC on a third. And, we have watched two free movies. That is it so far, except for hubby who watched some hunting shows Sunday.

Whoever records my habits will think I am a news junkie for sure....and I probably am.

you could get out and join a group of some sort and interact directly. TV is bad for humans.

i would suggest reading books but that usually comes off as pretty snotty.

on Tuesday and Wednesday nights while hubby watches that fake show called "American Idol". He is forced to the bedroom while I watch Keith on the 72 incher. He doesn't even get the surround sound but Keith does. I know, I'm terrible! But, I will leave it on for House after Idol just for you.

18. Democracy Now!
It's on local cable access in many places. if you don't watch it, it's a great source of news - has information months before you'll see it (if ever) on msm. it's also online (beyond nielson stuff)

The Daily Show and The Colbert Report

PBS News
Bill Moyers
Frontline

All except the two comedy central shows rely on public funding to exist. they can use the numbers from the N. ratings to help justify their existences.

43. They post the ratings daily and well as annually
There are some families that have digital boxes called people meters. They hook it up to your TV and give you a special remote tailored to the demographics of your family. You press a button to determine who you are (ex. 18-24 female) and then you have to press another button to prove that you actually watching the program. That information goes directly to Nielsen and is posted daily. Although ads are now purchased based off of "ratings plus" which includes recorded programs watched within 7 days of the initial recording. It's fascinating stuff really . .
