My white, poorly educated blue collar drinking buddy voted Obama
Back in the day Eddie and I used to walk to a local bar and drink. It was a bar in a red town, and red county, but in the blue state of NY.

Anyway Eddie loved to fight (he was that kind of guy. He can take a punch better then anyone I've seen fight in real life. He would always defend Bill Clinton from the rednecks. Sometimes it got physical, which he truly enjoyed.

He called me on primary day. He told me that he had voted, but that I would be disappointed. "Didn't vote Kucinich?" I asked.
"Dude. I voted for Obama. He got me!"
Eddie thought I would be disappointed because I was such a huge Hillary Clinton fan. I actually moved back from LV NV to NYS to help her campaign for her senate seat. He was sure I was still supporting her.
"I didn't vote for Kucinich," I replied. "Obama got my vote too."

We talked about it a bit more. Eddie thought Bill Clinton was pretty lame on the campaign trail and just emphasized the fact that if the USA could vote for Bill again, they would. But they can't.

The given choice between Poppy and Bill was a nobrainer
Those were days when party big-wigs had more control of who got to run. Today you and i can post a communication like this and everybody else can tune in or out when ever they want.

5. A lot of these people that fit the stereotype
"uneducated, blue collar" --have plenty of sense and wisdom born of experience. It doesn't take a Phd to see what's going on in this country.

The smart working class people will be voting Obama, not McBu$h.

8. I think this
"Obama Republican" will be a political animal equivalent to "Reagan Democrat"--hopefully with the difference that so many OR's won't end up with voter's remorse.

9. last night on CNN, they were talking about Kentucky and Oregon
and of course Mark Halperin was being a jackass, and spelling doomsday about Obama's "white voter" problem or whatever. And then when someone said that he was expected to do well in all demographics in Oregon, Mark said "That doesn't matter!" Lol, David Gergen shot him a DIRTY look. David Gergen talked about problems that Obama had with certain demographics, but he sounded so much more genuine and not all spin spin spin like Mark Halperin.

Yesterday on Morning Joe, Pat Buchanan actually said "Everyone in Oregon owns a 10 speed bike!" Oh Pat, stfu.

10. That has been mainly a media created stereotype anyway.

It was a polite way to say people who would not vote for Obama because they either believe the lies or because of his color. Racism knows no particular class though education would tend to narrow the tendency for it. But a lot of it has to do with the way one was brought up.
