Clinton: Racism hasn't been a factor in this campaign

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/05/19/AR2008051902729_pf.html

<snip>

In an interview after church services in Bowling Green on Sunday, Clinton for the first time addressed what women have been talking about for months, what she refers to as the "sexist" treatment she has endured at the hands of the pundits, media and others. The lewd T-shirts. The man who shouted "Iron my shirt" at a campaign event. The references to her cleavage and her cackle.

"It's been deeply offensive to millions of women," Clinton said. "I believe this campaign has been a groundbreaker in a lot of ways. But it certainly has been challenging given some of the attitudes in the press, and I regret that, because I think it's been really not worthy of the seriousness of the campaign and the historical nature of the two candidacies we have here."

Later, when asked if she thinks this campaign has been racist, she says she does not. And she circles back to the sexism. "The manifestation of some of the sexism that has gone on in this campaign is somehow more respectable, or at least more accepted, and . . . there should be equal rejection of the sexism and the racism when it raises its ugly head," she said. "It does seem as though the press at least is not as bothered by the incredible vitriol that has been engendered by the comments by people who are nothing but misogynists."

1. No racism, only sexism. Wow, Hillary is a joke.

No wonder some men dislike feminists...they are attacked for some legitimate stuff, but it looks like old line feminists throw accusations of sexism out like candy and sometimes for no reason whatsoever that I can see.

Gosh I'm beginning to feel more sorry for the men than the women. Why are you people doing this to me?

3. This is exactly why Hillary should never have power.
All she does is divide. When Obama was asked about racism, he said it's not an issue or excuse. Hillary is asked about sexism and she uses it as a wedge. That's irresponsible.

Hell, Hillary is asked about racism, and she uses it as an excuse to hammer
the sexist wedge in.

4. What a fucking liar
Add joker to liar and you got yourself a winner. That interview with the crazy Geraladine did not help Hillary at all. She and her supporters can cry sexism all they want but when crazy Geraldine could only come up with Obama brushing his shoulders off as sexism well they did themselves in with that meme. Just a bunch of sore loser utilizing sexism in the cry wolf fashion; not surprising since some of her wacky supporters believe that calling someone sweetie is sexist. Thank god that the younger generation of women seem to recognize true sexism when they see it.

7. OMFG
The nerve. The sheer unmitigated gall. After the huge Wright blowup, after she herself used the racist Wright "issue" to try to sway superdelegates, she has the nerve to say that.

There was a time when I thought I could forgive the Clintons for the way they have campaigned for this nomination. No longer.

11. How about when she dropped Farrakhan's name into the debate, for no reason.
If people didn't recognize the racebaiting in that, I don't know what to say about them.

and then she goes on to reject the sexism and not the racism.

That's really an accomplishment in the world of Orwellian doublespeak.

14. HRC makes me sick. Yeah Hillary no racism at all. You forget that
your nasty Nevada pollster told American that HRC camp has nothing to worry about because Latinos WONT vote for a BLACK person. Fuck that and HRC needs to shut her damn nasty mouth. Please HRC acts as if Obama isn't getting any death threats or people aren't saying racist shit about him. The guy has people making monkey T-shirts of him but you don't hear Barack crying about racism. HRC this proves your not a fighter. A fighter wouldn't cry sexism at every turn.
