“Leaders are people who do the right things. Managers are people who do things right." - Warren Bennis

Leaders direct, align, motivate, strategize, engage, coach, empower, communicate, and reward. (Obama MOTIVATES, EMPOWERS, and ENGAGES)

Managers plan, organize, coordinate, control, monitor, allocate, communicate, and reward. (Hillary ALLOCATES and CONTROLS - or tries to)

Here are two signs that you may be managing more than leading:

1. you focus on the immediate at the expense of the important (Hillary duJour)
2. you think “working harder” is an actual strategy (Hillary again - and bu$h too)

Stay in the Senate Mrs. Clinton. Let the leaders lead.

1. I would rather a progressive Democrat take her place.

3. I'm not so certain she is a manager, given the history of her campaign.

10. Does she suck more at managing or leading?
It's actually a debatable point.

5. How does that square with her management of her own campaign??
Color me dubious regarding her skills as a manager. She might make a good Senate Whip, but I'd never support her as a Majority Leader. For that, I'd prefer Feingold, Dodd, or even Biden.

6. No, she's not a manager. She's a terrible manager.
Her entire campaign has been a disaster, a waste of money, poorly supervised, and poorly peopled. She's terrible at management.

She will never be leadership in the senate.

7. 3. You let consultants tell you what to say and do instead of you telling THEM
Obama has been running his campaign, telling his staff the way things would be done and telling his consultants what approach to take, what tone to use, and not to stoop to base attacks. Clinton has been ruled by her consultants who tell her which personality to employ on any given day, but do not even let her know when there is no more money in the bank.

8. If anything, Hillary is a Mismanager. She didn't *plan* or *coordinate* for anything beyond
Feb. 5th, which was her downfall.
Couldn't *control* Bill's rantings and rumblings on the campaign trail.
Didn't *monitor* her campaign's finances or *allocate* enough money to pay her long list of howling creditors.
Failed to "communicate" that she could be a candidate of change by taking the position of an incumbent.
And she chose to *reward* the wrong people - i.e. Mark Penn.

11. HRC didn't manage anything. She was MANAGED by consultants.
And I suppose her "husband" got in on it. She didn't even know she was broke until after the fact!

12. Could you share with us
your personal experiences leading large numbers of people and managing valued assets. Do leaders ever have to manage? Do managers ever have to lead?

Was Jim Jones a leader? Is Bill Gates a manager?

Do Obama supporters spend their entire lives lashing out at a needed ally and her supporters?

If ya want a leader in the white house, as I do, vote for General Clark.

13. A needed ally wouldn't stab you in the back as Hillary has been doing
She's done, and will be lucky to hang on to her Senate seat
