Why Pastor Hagee was good for us today
I listened to some Michael Medved on the way home to kind of guage the fallout over rejecting Hagee was in Freeperville. Lets just say that the "base" is not happy he did not stand by Hagee and that most of them don't disagree with Hagee's views.

By going and getting Hagee to endorse him than rejecting that endorsement McCain has just taken two steps backwards in the Christian Conservative Community who already view him very unfavorably.

1. I completely agree
The victory was not that this somehow neutralized the "Wright" issue, we know that the repukes will make the "20 years in the pew!" comparison, like McCain did in basically his second sentence of the "rejecting Hagee" statement. The victory was in alienating a base that already distrusts him.

On the Parsley front (completely different) , on Countdown they were talking about how Parsley calling Islam a fake religion that US was meant to destroy is a top news story in many Arabic news venues in the Middle East, and that the story is really gaining traction over there. Of course, McCain will never expect that a MSM outlet would DARE ask him about potential security implications of this.

2. Yep
This and his statements about Jerry and Pat in 2000 has that group of the base thinking McCain is not one of them and ever since W they expect their candidates to be one of them.

3. Whoa. If he's lost Medved...
Little Mikey Medved has been shilling like a lapdog for McLame for some time now. Was he really slamming McLame for kicking Hagee to the curb? Dayum. If so, I would actually agree with Medved. Would have been even better to beat McLame over the head with Hagee every time the Rev. Wright bs starts.

4. People would call to complain about it
and Medved kept saying this is a really big mistake by John. I fully support him but Haggee is a good man and it was really wrong of him to throw him under the bus like that and how disapointed McCain didn't stand on principle.

Than he'd try to scare people of the Obama boogey man.

Half pissed as hell that McCain would embarrass such a "good man", when he was right anyway.

Half in agreement with McCain because what Hagee said re:Hitler was "inexcusable".

Then they fight amongst themselves about the Hitler remarks.

Seems like this could drive a wedge between the social conservatives and the otherwise conservatives.

Good.
