Hillary has contempt for the Democratic Party and for us
Her linkage of Abolition and the struggle for Womens' Suffrage to her brazenly fraudulent "count the votes" attack is just the latest in a string of venomous, destructive pronouncements. This sad deluded woman is angling to deprive us and the world of a break from 8 years of illegal war, torture, class war and environmental devastation. Will we vent and snipe here or do something about it?

35. Even though you know you're candidate can't win?
Even though nothing positive would come of nominating her, since it could only be done through ugliness and trickery?

Why don't you think a Democratic victory is the most important thing?

And why can't you accept the reality that you're candidate has lost?

There isn't anything positive in her staying in the race at this point.

I don't know why it's so hard for you guys to understand.

You guys keep saying it again and again, but it's just not true. When one candidate has a majority of ALL the delegates, then we can say someone has won.

44. Why do YOU guys just keep parroting the meaningless phrase "Obama hasn't won YET"?
Why can't you accept that it can't be good for the party HRC to somehow be handed the nom now after the party has made it clear it doesn't want her?

You know she'll never be popular again.

You know she can't unite or galvanize us.

Why not just admit that a Democratic victory is the thing that matters now?

It's going to be interesting to see how they handle the GOP attacks on Obama, which haven't really begun yet.

Obama will desperately need both Clintons as allies, and he'll do best with Hillary on the ticket. I hope he's smart enough to realize that.

Randall Robinson author of "An Unbroken Agony" talks about your racist heroine and her bigot husband.

When the "first black president" and his wife ran Arkansas, the NAACP sued them for intimidating black voters at the polls. Conversely, the clintons' refinement of the DNC drag and drop is, arguably, one of the more insidious and repugnant applications of their special brand of race-hate politics.

on some levels she is deserving of the outrage but the way that she is being attacked in Du no less is nothing more than parroting of right winged rag outlets and it really saddens me....

When are people going to realize that they are being force fed this destructive behavior type I hate Hillary posts...

How hard is it to talk about her voting record, her own actions and words without all the name calling and mud slinging, it accomplishes nothing of you ask me, makes those people repeating it look like they have lost the articulate way of discourse many on Du were once know for..

Its no wonder so many bright minds rarely visit and its a sad loss for us all.

I don't understand how hard it is to see that many from other sites come on here to disrupt and I am saddened good minds fall for such tactics and follow along like little sheep.

OBAMA
YES on Amendment No. 4882 that would have banned the use of cluster bombs in civilian areas.
NO on Bankruptcy bill which stripped protections for people in debt.
In response to the Kyle/Lieberman bill that sets the stage for the US to take military action against Iran Obama drafted legislation stating that Congress did not grant President Bush the authority to attack Iran, either through the Kyl-Lieberman amendment or any resolution previously adopted.
Not then in the Senate but took a public stand against the Iraq War Resolution
OBAMA signed the AFC Anti-Torture Pledge

Cluster bombs and landmines are particularly terrifying weapons that wreak havoc on communities trying to recover from war. They are fatal impediments to reconstruction and rehabilitation of agricultural land; they destroy valuable livestock; they disable otherwise productive members of society; they maim or kill children trying to salvage them for scrap metal. Over 150 nations have signed the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty. In the autumn of 2006, there was a chance to take a step in the right direction: Senate Amendment No. 4882, an amendment to a Pentagon appropriations bill that would have banned the use of cluster bombs in civilian areas. Amendment No. 4882 was an easy one to vote against: Who'd want to risk accusation of "tying the hands of the Pentagon" during a never-ending, global War on Terror? As is so often the case, there was no political cost to doing the wrong thing. And there was no political reward for doing the right thing.
But Senator Obama did the right thing.
Senator Obama of Illinois voted IN FAVOR of the ban.
Senator Clinton of New York voted AGAINST the ban.
Analysts say Clinton did not want to risk appearing "soft on terror," as it would have harmed her electability. Amendment Rejected.

33. I don't doubt it but don't allow yourself to be one of those, stick to the facts, believe it or not
the facts will always get the right attention one needs, when people attack it simply forces one to hold ranks and attack in turn and the message gets lost.

I have to admit, Sen clinton has disappointed me on many levels but then again I am not as impressed with Sen Obama either...

I am simply unsure if that he has what it takes to take those in power on...I once thought Kerry had it and was extremely disappointed with he turned tail and ran, sure, he spoke up at times but in reviewing the whole sordid affair it was clear he could not take them on...do you believe Sen Obama can?

These behind the scenes power hungry greedy narcissistic fools are anything but foolish and if the last eight years of justice not prevailing does not prove they are not so easily dealt with I don't know what will..

Is Sen Clinton tough in ways that makes me leery of her intent at times? Oh definitely and yet in the same way sometimes I feel like she has what it takes to take them on, she knows the score, she has been burned enough times by these people...I think she is playing some very high stakes and I can't with all honesty say she will prevail and ensure justice is served.

But Obama simply does not have the inside tract so to speak, sometimes it is necessary to fight fire with fire, sleep with the enemy to ensure you know what is going on behind enemy lines, these people are strong, too strong and it won't be easy to bring them down..

What I fear mostly is another repeat of a stolen election...we just don't have the time and should NOT be spending our energy with all this infighting..its what they want, what they are counting on, I don't understand how so many people are falling for it after having had such tactics fired at us for the last twenty years...

We need to wake up, there are enemy plants not only throughout the internet but obviously in high positions inside the dem party, I don't believe Sen Clinton to be among them, they might believe she is but I think she is playing the game, one that must be played in order to win..

And sadly, I don't think Obama knows how to play it...I hope I am wrong, but I don't believe such at this time...

I wish Dur's would quit the "I hate Hillary Threads" and focus on the real enemy or we will end up defeating ourselves....

36. Hillary has forfeited the right to any voice or role in the Democratic Party period.
And she is in no way "vetted" against the Matterhorn of manure the right is desperate to unload on her. Obama's netroots campaign is truly revolutionary, something hard for elderly and isolated people (Appalachia) to grasp. Obama has dramatically expanded the Democratic party demographics and fundraising (at the expense of PACs and lobbyists) in ways we had only dreamed of two years ago. Hillary is disloyal, dishonest and manipulative. Her White House would be just like her gutter campaign.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. It is much appreciated.

40. I can understand the outrage that many have towards Sen Clinton
Edited on Fri May-23-08 12:40 AM by AuntPatsy
and I can also understand the faith many have put into Sen Obama, he is a new face, supposedly new blood and with new blood many believe our fears will be put to rest...what I cannot understand is this almost God like adoration of a man that seemed to appear out of no where....

Sen Clinton has been around a long time, her whole life has been invaded in a way most would faint dead away from having been so invaded..but she persisted, she has not given up....I can understand your anger after reading your posts but there is something inside me that screams out that she has been playing a game, a game that could backfire, of that I have no doubt, but a game never the less, a very dangerous one...I believe her daughter Chelsea to be made of the same stern stock that Sen Clinton displays...she has come off as untrustworthy with regard to some of her actions both past and present but somehow I believe what she has done was necessary in order to put the powers that be at a disadvantage, on guard so to speak...

It is just my thoughts mind you, whether she has actually crossed over to the dark side is a matter of opinion, with the stakes so high I choose to believe she is doing what is necessary to throw some off the scent...

I believe if she had the power of presidency she could defeat them...I would be heartsick if I was wrong..and forever lose all faith..

I believe Sen Obama to have good intentions...but I am not so sure he is smart enough to know whom to trust and whom not to....common sense tells you at this late stage that the powers that be have not stopped playing and Sen Obama has now become another pawn on the board...will he know which move to make? Will he be able to make it across the board without getting tossed off and be crowned king? I think it will depend on those whom he keeps close to him and I have no doubt that some close to him might be very untrustworthy..

I believe Sen Clinton would be more aware of having enemies inside her camp, I believe Obama would not be as aware.....

I am really disheartened and disgusted to read many of the posts regarding Sen Clinton..it does nothing for the person posting such venom....considering what she has attempted to do and the fact that she is still hanging on regardless of the blood that she has let makes me admire her and feel she is undeserving from so called Democratic individuals of the vile posts regarding not only her but her family as well...I have noticed that now Chelsea has become food for the fodder of hate filled posters...

If one truly admires Sen Obama than that person would and should realize that he and his family would never condone such hate and vile spewed rhetoric towards his opponent. He strikes me as above such and I can only hope that he remains above the fray...

Again and I say this because common sense seems to have gone south on DU but talking about Sen Clinton and her family the way some are doing does nothing more than put them on the same level as those I had the misfortune to read that post on the site that should not and cannot ever be named....

I'm confused, I'm frightened for our country....and I can only hope that the one who gets the nom will also get the full support from all party members and quit allowing themselves to parrot the hateful and sick childlike banter than Rove himself has made the Republican party so stained with. They cannot be trusted at all, they can never in my mind regain their integrity, they have allowed evil to enter their fray, I hope the Dem's don't follow suit but I have a feeling it's too late...

Know thy enemy, and understand or at least try to look beneath the layers of extra clothing that many use in order to hide their true identity from those that can not be trusted.

I wish people would wise up, don't lose focus, the prize is near but hating Sen Hillary is defeating and I believe with all my heart and soul that the powers that be are laughing all the way to the bank knowing full well after reading many of Du posts that the next election is in the bag..their plan has worked, dissent inside the dem party has festered into an ugly wound and it continues to ooze out poison....its time to heal it, its time to put a bandage on it, take a pain pill and get the job done...

The real enemy remains hidden...Sen clinton is NOT the enemy but she does know them, of that I am sure and in some ways that comforts me...Sen Obama has yet to see the faces behind the mask..and that scares me...there is no time...

41. I hear your emotions in your words
but would counter that Obama and his team are quite seriously clued in, demonstrated most vividly in their checkmate jujitsu against the legendary Clinton machine. I am grateful we had the chance to see the real Hillary, who I previously believed would make a fine president. Underneath your concern for who has "slept with the enemy", etc., I detect an aversion to hero-worship is the stronger impulse. This can be off putting but it is not nearly as pronounced as you may think, and has little relevance in assessing the true character of a candidate. Obama is a great figure at a crucial time, people sense that and are excited. That is all. This does not diminish or cancel out the solid support he has from sober, established political commentators. And by the way, Hillary's personal life is her own, but since you mentioned it, she overlooked a serial abuser, attacked his accusers and claimed credit for his term in office. Some feminist role model. And Chelsea, who could be doing great work anywhere in the world, at least for a while, manages a hedge fund.

goal of this party? To win in November or make a damn statement? If it is a statement some are trying to make by walking around telling themselves we are the party that nominated the first black as its nominee.....But would this not be a loser in November? In my honest appraisal, it would. The only hope for obama to make the statement is to make another statement by placing HRC in the slot as his VP. Hell, if you going to run on CHANGE, then add HRC that you and her policies are not that far apart. If her platform is basically as yours and you obama are calling it change, then what the hell is HRC's called? CHANGE as well.....

This is why Democrats lose elections. The elite is always "above" doing anything that might appeal to THOSE PEOPLE. ..This is part of the reason the Washington elite hated Bill Clinton. A Democrat who appeals to the common man? No no, can't have that!" -

All I can say is remove Bill Clinton and add Hillary Rodham Clinton and you have the same damn honest, and truthful statement.

32. Funny, you moved right past the specific votes the poster mentioned.
Why don't you want to talk about specific policy differences that were mentioned?

So being part of a multimillionaire family with a net worth of $109 million still qualifies the Clintons as "common people"?

When you say "common man," do you mean "common white man"? Not everyone who is "common" supports the Clintons, as Obama's supporting coalition indicates.

Plus - what makes you think that Hillary Clinton is a better GE candidate when she can't even prevail in the primaries? Even in the GE mock ups, Obama is within 40 electoral votes of her after three months of negative capaigning, the "kitchen sink" strategy, sweetiegate, bittergate, Wrightgate thrown at Obama. While Hillary's minions are touring Fox News and the Limbaugh Show, even McCain knows that his opponent will be Obama. When does the Clinton dead-endism end?

34. I like watching how she is getting fatter as she tries to lie more
What a loathsome skank.

I have definitely come to the conclusion that she is doing two things... not missing a meal and making an ass out of herself.

She either knows she is lying or is so pathologically deluded in her web of lies that she actually believes what she is saying and thinks we don't see past her self-aggrandizing, selfish and destructive behavior. I can also see why Bill has repeatedly cheated on her. She must one hell of a pain in the ass to live with.

Do I hate her? I pity her. She is going to go down in history as a Tanya Harding, a Benedict Arnold, a Joe Lieberman... she has ruined any chances that she will be considered a "leader". She has taken a big shit on the Clinton legacy, which was dubious in the first place.

She knows she failed and can't face facts. She is not a role model that any mother would want to have for their daughter. She is what any smart mother would make sure her daughter never turns into.

39. I was hoping for a couple of ideas
I understand busload(s) of Clinton followers are going to DC to intimidate the Democratic Rule Committee meeting May 31. I don't think Obama supporters to add to the circus but shouldn't there be some coordinated show of opposition to Hillary's hoary melodrama? Of course, giving her enough rope has proven a winner as she is her own, and her husband's, worst enemy.
