Poll question: Michigan and Florida Deserve to Be Kicked Out of the Union
Edited on Thu May-22-08 10:54 PM by democrattotheend
Okay, now that I have your attention, please help me by participating in this poll.

We were going over the methodology for a poll at work, and my boss said that pollsters sometimes start a political poll with a non-related question to get people's interest. One example he gave was "PC or Mac", and I thought that would actually be an interesting question to correlate with candidate preferences. I have a theory but I want to see if it's accurate. If you are a dual user (like me) vote for the operating system you prefer. So if you use a Mac at home and a PC at work and prefer Mac, vote for Mac, or vice versa.

Just a fun poll in the interest of having at least one thread that's about something other than Michigan and Florida. Although I encourage someone to say something outrageous so this will get more kicks. Or you can just kick it.

P.S. I don't really think we should kick Michigan out of the union. Florida I'm not so sure about...there was a parody "Blame Florida" that was done after the 2000 election, and it had a line that said "And if we had half a brain we would give it back to Spain." Given Florida's recent track record on messing up elections, I am not sure I entirely disagree with that idea. No offense to Floridians...my brother goes to school there and I have family down there.

If you add steamed skim milk to your coffee, the resulting beverage would be considered a "latte".
In this event, you will be labeled as a Bible-confiscating Bolshevik.

Here's a Mac. Obviously, white.

The IBM PC was made by a firm calling itself 'Big Blue', but the fact is their computers are also white.

Linus Torvalds. Behind that cute penguin mask, a white guy. Notice a trend here?

The NeXT computer, one of the most brilliant designs of the early 90s. Snubbed by a hostile market.

I rest my case.

I figured it would get more votes if it looked like flamebait, because more people would open it.

Yes, Barack does have more delegates even if they are all counted, even if you split Michigan 70%-30% (since some of the uncommitted delegates might be Clinton supporters). But I don't actually want this to become a thread to argue about Michigan and Florida...I think there are enough of those in GD:P today.

Windoze, Mac, Linux and Ubuntu are operating systems.

Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc. are PC brands (personal computers, first marketed by Apple).

There are many flavors of Linux. Ubuntu is one of them.

Linux -> Ubuntu
Linux -> OpenSUSE
Linux -> Debian
Linux -> Redhat
etc.

All of these operating systems can be considered under the umbrella of "Linux." They all run very similar kernels at their core.

47. This Poll is diametrically flawed since it unintentionally mixes apples and oranges.
All home computers are PCs (personal computers).

Microsoft does not own the world (yet).

Your poll mixes computer brands with operating systems making it flawed from the get go.

Windows and Macintosh are operating systems. As are Linux, Unix, Ubuntu and a host of other programs.

Please reformat the poll and try again.

You can not have an apple and an orange in the same bag and not have rot.

74. Gonna get pendantic on you
Obama supporter.

Don't like term PC in this poll. A PC is a personal computer. They are all PCs.

I use Windows and Linux as needed and support Obama.

77. You're right, I'm sorry
I was thinking of those "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" commercials. I shouldn't have even added Linux as an option...it seems people are voting for it if they have ever used Linux.

78. Hell, maybe we could form two governments like they did on
Jericho. All blue states would be called Happy Place and of course all red states would be called "Dumbfuckistan".....

95. I'm down with that
My mom and I have (jokingly) devised a plan to reenact the Civil War and kick most of the red states out of the country. Except I am fighting to keep Tennessee because I like country music, but she says Tennessee has to go.

None of them would function without even the simplist processor or computer brain if you will, so McSame = extention of the current idiot pretzeldent = useless = no CPU = Dumbfuckistan

86. I'm a Mac, Linux, UNIX, Windowz user who supports the Dem nominee
My preferred operating system is Kucinich 2.0, but I will happily use Obama 1.0. :)

Hillary 5.2 I will only use in case of emergencies. :(

McCain 9.8 is a old virus (based on the Bushler 6.6.6 virus) that destroys hardware, operating system files, and document files. :grr:
