How pathetic. I open DU and the Home Page has a plea by someone to recommend
a post.

I have always thought that recommendations are earned, not begged.

But, then, of course, the one from several weeks ago, predicting that Obama was going to win PA by 10 points quickly "rose" to the most recommended.

And, as was pointed out, if Rev. Wright had posted his bile on DU, each and everyone of them would have risen to that "coveted" place of most recommended.

6. Was gone for a week and decided to see what was new
was going to the LBN page. But, as I said, those pathetic posts were just in my face.

Perhaps the administrators can change the Home Page so that these pathetic posts are not the face that DU presents to the world. Not a chance. Not in ObamaUnderground. Glad I did not donate last week.

I am curious. Skinner has often expressed his wishes that DU does not become the home for all the conspiracy theorists. Perhaps if one of these crazy post all of a sudden got 100,000 recommendations - if one believes the counter - he will rethink.

4. There is a simple way to find out if a thread is fellating Obama.
Just look at the amount of reccomendations it has received. If there are a large amount of reccomendations, you can be sure that the post is worshiping the altar of St. Obama.

Likewise, if there is a 100 post thread with very few reccomendations, you know that the thread is critical of Obama.

5. *yawn*
Yet you found the need to clutter DU with your complaint instead of ignoring whatever post was annoying you. I guess when you are in need of validation you are in need of validation.

8. You need to open a dictionary to find the definition of "clutter."
Of course, clattering GD-P with adoration of Obama is exempt.

A dictionary, by the way, is a book or a web page with a collection of definitions of words. I realize that there is a generation whatever that has never bothered opening a dictionary.

20. Actually, 'clutter' and question everything works:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/clutter

1. to fill or litter with things in a disorderly manner:
–verb (used without object)

5. a disorderly heap or assemblage; litter: It's impossible to find anything in all this clutter.
6. a state or condition of confusion.

9. meh.... Who cares about the begging for recs
and furthermore, Wright's choice of words in his sermons are not entirely words I would have chosen - however, his anger over how the government has shat upon the black man, certainly has merit. Racism is very alive and very well in this country - seeing Senators Clinton and Obama pretty much stay close in big primaries only to have her blow him out in Kentucky, West Virginia, and by 11+ margins in a few other typical areas in the country known for hostile mindsets against their minority African-Americans population, gives credence to that viewpoint - especially when it's places that the pathetic bigot, Mike Huckabee, did very well against McCain.

10. Group think, don't you know.
Some people feel validated by knowing they are a part of a group. Just hitting recommend makes you part of that group. Doesn't have to be a good group, just has to be a group.

On the other hand, we were out of town last several days, and logging into the Home Page from the local library was how I found that Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor..

26. It might seem stupid... but I see it as a simple way to ask a simple question of...
...everybody on the sight. it gives people a chance to leave a quick opinion and read others opinions quickly as well. Plus, I think the amount of people who rec a thread like this is telling as well.

Oh by the way, it's not the poster who earns the rec (I left a post like this recently and I have no sense of pride in the amount of rec's it has received) it's the question.
