Boston Mayor, pledged Clinton delegate, says she should not be VP
I thought this was interesting. There are a lot of factors to consider if she were to be in that position. I think this mayor lays out one of them.

Boston mayor Menino says Clinton shouldn't seek vice presidency

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino said Hillary Clinton shouldn't run for vice president on a ticket with Barack Obama because her husband, former President Bill Clinton, could cause problems for the new administration.

"If she got back into the White House, she'd bring along Big Daddy, and he would overshadow the president," Menino said in an interview Thursday.

Bill Clinton is "pushing real hard" for his wife to be Obama's running mate, Time magazine reported this week.

Menino, 65, was reelected to his fourth term as mayor in 2005. He endorsed New York Sen. Clinton in 2007 and is a pledged Clinton delegate to the Democratic convention this August.

There is such a thing as being too divisive at the time when we should be coming together.

There are a couple of pending lawsuits which are especially divisive that are filed by Florida Demcrats.

I agree with the Boston Mayor.

2. Well obama is going to lose, based upon what MOST obama
say about us HRC supporters: uh huh "The argument that Clinton's supporters are racists proves that Obama is unelectable. No candidate can win the general election if over half of Democratic voters refuses to vote for him because he is black." talkleft

So, you see obama folks calling us bigots and racists was a bad thing to do...Serious, I have many folks as friends from this forum that support HRC and to a person man or woman I say is either a bigot or a racist.Maybe once all this is over then some of you that called these folks names should make a public apology to them.....For myself, being Jewish and raised in the south all these years, I have been called a lot worse by some of the best haters.....

5. How do you get away with what you post accusing people of racism?
I have wondered that a lot.

I get deleted if I smile crooked.

You post anything and just keep on.

6. You do realize that saying Bill Clinton would overshadow Obama is NOT complimentary to Obama?
And Menino also points out that America never did better than during the Clinton administration, and he gives both Clintons credit.

He isn't saying they'd try to steal attention from Obama. He's saying they'd overshadow him.

Which I agree is possible.

OTOH, I don't think Obama has much chance of winning without Hillary on the ticket, and Bill's help.

7. I disagree. I think it is just a factual thing to say.
I don't see it as negative at all. A new president with a former two term prez looking over his shoulder...

8. Bill IS NOT RUNNING! That's the whole point to this exercise. Menino
is being charitable. Now, Clintons, go away!

12. If he thinks that how could he be supporting Hillary for Prez?
If there were a danger of the Big Dog overshadowing Obama from the VP residence it would be doubly true for the Big Dog to overshadow Hillary from the White House as First Gentleman.
