Logic. Or rather its absence.
This post is mainly directed at Obama supporters. Just a few questions:

1) If Obama didn't have the delegates secured for a win, why would the DNC be working with the Obama campaign into transitioning to become an arm of the campaign. It's been widely reported that this is happening in anticipation of the general election.

2) Same question with a minor change, why would the DNC be doing this if the Rules and By-laws Committee had made a judgment unfavorable to Obama? (That probably wouldn't change much but it would look as if the RBC was unenthused about his candidacy).

3) Why would Obama leak that he was initiating a vp search if he didn't have concrete reasons to believe that he has the delegates?

4) Why would Obama be campaigning in GE mode if he was still locked in a battle with Clinton.

5) Why would David Axelrod have said that they have the necessary number of uncommitted SDs on tap, if they didn't? To do so without having them, would be a huge risk- SDs could have contradicted it if it weren't true, exposing the campaign.

The obvious answers to these questions lead to only one conclusion.

4. She's not doing as much damage as people appear to think
and I believe the thinking in the Obama camp and the party is that she could do worse damage if she feels (even more) bullied and treated disrespectfully. It makes sense when you think about it.

7. Why?
A large supply of overconfidence with some arrogance on the side. It happens all the time in high school sports. I'm starting to think this election has disintegrated into the same mentality. We even have cheerleaders.

8. Over confidence and arrogance does not accout for the DNC
working with the Obama campaign to transition into an arm of the obama campaign. That is happening as we speak. Arrogance doesn't account for the fact that Obama is 185 delegates ahead of Clinton at the very tail end of the season. Arrogance does not account for the fact that SDs, as a whole, have been steering clear of Clinton for months.

Denial could well account for Clinton supporters who are such cheerleaders that they're still cheering even though the game is over.

9. Frequently, what the
public sees being reported in the media is just the surface; what happens behind the scenes is very different. That is, of course, what is happening now. The contest between Clinton and Obama for the nomination ended on May 6. Events since then have had different meaning, and goals the media has not accurately identified.
