It's time for Obama to concede
http://jonswift.blogspot.com/2008/05/barack-obama-should-concede-nomination.html

Barack Obama Should Concede the Nomination to Hillary

Although one can't help but admire Barack Obama's tenaciousness, it's time that he face the facts and abandon his quixotic quest for the Democratic nomination. We all know that the Clintons will stop at nothing to get the nomination for Hillary and the best thing Obama could do for his country and his own political future is to concede defeat and preserve one last shred of dignity. After his trouncing in Kentucky and his lackluster win in Oregon, the writing is on the wall. It is obvious he will not have enough delegates to secure the nomination and all he is doing is prolonging the misery. Perhaps he can run again in 2032 when he will still be younger than John McCain is now and people will have forgiven him for the divisiveness he has caused by trying to get people to vote for him.

26. Um... what? He's won the popular vote by every metric that can actually be measured.
Seen as how the only way Clinton "wins" the popular vote is if you count BOTH FL and MI, and you can't "count" MI since her name was the only name on the ballot, due to rules she agreed to - its both IN PRINT AND there is audio of her saying that MI will not count. So if you pretend Obama got ZERO votes in MI, then yes, in that completely fabricated world Clinton gets the majority of ....something. It's not the "Popular vote" but its some subset of that.

However, in the reality based world the rest of our community lives in, Obama has the popular vote well in hand.

Sorry.

57. It's not lack of humor
it's the degree of deliberate obtuseness certain people display in GD-P...hard to tell who's being serious and who's playing satirist these days. I'm glad it's the latter in this case.

...
is this satire? The popular vote is NOT the metric we use to determine our nominee, delegates are no matter how much rending of clothing, gnashing of teeth or tearing of hair hillary's supporters do, and if he can't win it without her, it's very likely she can't win it without him.....

I think they can both beat McCain, unfortunately for Hillary, she couldn't beat Barack....

39. In teh same way that Bush says
The country would be a better place if it were a dictatorship, as long as Bush got to be the dictator -- which he effectively did, as it turns out.

This is Hillary's only real claim. She will make such a mess of everything if she is not given the nomination, then we might as well give it to her.

58. I'll admit, it's not a great joke
But it is a joke. I mean, that is Hillary's only argument -- that she is here and can't leave and as log as she's here, we might as well give her the nomination, because it would be really messy otherwise.

I hope at some level she is having one of her famous cackle laughs when she reflects on just how gullible her supports have been.
