Didn't want to say this Before but Since Hillary Brought it Up
The cynical side of me thinks the threat of being assassinated may be one of the reasons Barack decided not to campaign in Kentucky and West Virginia.

I can only imagine the amount of death threats he has probably already received on the campaign trail and they may have just decided it was better to be safe than sorry. We'll never know but if that was part of their rationale, I can't fault them.

I'm pretty sure he did.

Not saying that security wasn't an issue; but I don't think the premise of your hypothesis rings terribly true.

I've been thinking the same thing. I was afraid I was just paranoid but now I know I'm not alone. I think it's a valid reason to not have campaigned there.
