Words Matter
Assassination words do matter. And even if Senator Clinton honestly meant that nominations routinely go through June – using “assassination” to illustrate this possibility demonstrates tragically poor judgment, in my opinion. I have to believe that if the tables were turned and Senator Obama uttered these same words, Senator Clinton and her campaign would be just as outraged and rightly so. Assassination is no laughing matter. And there are many crazy people in this country who would like nothing more than to off a black presidential candidate or for that matter (I believe) a female presidential candidate. Throwing around the word assassination in any context is not to be taken lightly.

I am glad Senator Clinton clarified her remarks but I must say that I have been so completely disappointed by all the Clintons this presidential season that my heart hurts. I used to hold this family in very high esteem but their quest to win this nomination no matter what the cost is mind blowing. Every day either someone from her campaign or in this case the Senator herself says something that takes the wind out of me and today, shockingly, it was assassination. I realize campaigns are blood sport but this kind of comment has NO place in this election.
