I wonder how this shit makes the Obama family feel?
Man, I feel for Barack and his family. It must be hard enough to be running as the 1st black president, without having to hear comments about the possibility of your assassination.

1. I feel sorry for his kids.
Thankfully, they are just young enough that maybe this comment will escape them.

5. They're old enough to have asked about Obama girl.
This from the campaign that says we should all leave Chelsea Clinton alone? Hillary has proved once and for all she only cares about Hillary.

Can you imagine Obama saying something along those lines? The outrage for Chelsea's feelings.

This isn't a stab at Hillary, but I just can't believe people are defending the comment. It's just wrong. It can't be defended.

8. There's a difference between telling a racist joke
and wanting the guy you protect to die...

I believe every secret service agent would take a bullet for him, so lets not question SS integrity.

6. I just can't imagine what Michelle feels right now. I know that was something always in the back
of her mind and to have it verbalized in the most base, self-serving way that it was TODAY by none other that Hillary Clinton has got to sting. That psychopath Hillary is the STRANGEST bitch I've ever come across. She is really mentally unbalanced.

24. My DH (we're from Boston) wants Ted to take on Clinton over this, I had to remind him....
of Ted's situation :(

I certainly wonder how he is feeling right now, he gets his diagnosis and days later he is very publicly reminded of his Brother's own passing.

9. Probably the same way the Clintons always felt over the
threats to them. Imagine how they felt over those comments about Chelsea bearing "the taint." Imagine how they felt when gun shows sold life size stand-up targets of Bill and Hillary.

Do you think the Obamas have never considered this?

However, Hillary Clinton did not threaten the Obamas personally. She verbalized what many have thought and said behind closed doors.

10. I think Michelle is enjoying the race...
I think she's a VERY competitive woman who seems she enjoys a fight- and enjoys winning. And I think she hates Hillary Clinton. This from an Obama supporter. I think she's a very strong down-to-earth woman, who doesn't have any special considerations for kindness for people whom she obviously doesn't like (though obviously she wouldn't say anything like that out public)

I like her, since she seems 'real' to me, not a fake politically manufactured image.

26. I don't think she hates Hillary Clinton.
I think Obama supporters are projecting their feelings. You would be surprised how little hate exists between candidates, even between those who sit on opposite sides of the aisle. Did you know that Teddy Kennedy and Orrin Hatch are personal friends?

12. I believe they have had this discussion - and while
I'm sure it wasn't good to hear, I hope they realize that she is either completely desperate, or clueless- either way, this stupid statement will only harm HER in the long run.

I admire the Obama family tremendously- and look forward to having them in "our" house in a little over 1/2 year!

peace~

29. Why is it faux?
are we to believe you'd be laughing it off if the shoe was on the other foot? This country has a pretty scary-ass history when it comes to matters of race and violence. There's nothing fake about my concern for the Obama family.

28. I think every potential president enters the race
knowing full well that assassiantion is possible. I am sure deep down, he thought to himself "let's not give any cukoos some ideas there Hillary", then he probably smiled when he realized how boneheaded the remark was, and how she just made the nomination process much easier.

34. nomination in June.
TIME: Can you envision a point at which--if the race stays this close--Democratic Party elders would step in and say, "This is now hurting the party and whoever will be the nominee in the fall"?

CLINTON: No, I really can't. I think people have short memories. Primary contests used to last a lot longer. We all remember the great tragedy of Bobby Kennedy being assassinated in June in L.A. My husband didn't wrap up the nomination in 1992 until June. Having a primary contest go through June is nothing particularly unusual.

snip
nomination in June. He was not the frontrunner and if he had not been assassinated he would have had an uphill battle going into the convention that year. The RFK-Clinton parallels are much stronger than any RFK-Obama parallels. Obama is in some ways equivalent to Humphrey in being the front-runner, and in some ways equivalent to Eugene McCarthy, in being the youth-movement egg-head anti-war candidate.
And Bill "wrapped up" his campaign in April 1992 rather like Obama "wrapped it up" in February. In other words, Bill was the solid front-runner in April but he didn't clinch the nomination( get the real magic number) until June. And his final competition didn't drop out even then, but continued on to the convention.
