1. I would be happy to hear
"And in conclusion, I am challenging you for your senate seat in 2012".

7. Oh, well. Counted wrong. This is #3.
And, I like sandnsea. We've agreed more often than we've disagreed.

Thanks for the reply, and the commentary. :hi:

10. Here's the answer:
Robert Kennedy Jr.:

“It is clear from the context that Hillary was invoking a familiar political circumstance in order to support her decision to stay in the race through June. I have heard her make this reference before, also citing her husband’s 1992 race, both of which were hard fought through June. I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense.”

-------------------------------------------

With all due respect to RFK, Jr. I don't think it inappropriate, or a mistake for people to take offense. I certainly am offended by what she said. At the same time, I agree with RFK that the atmosphere is highly charged, and that many, including me, are frustrated that Hillary seems like she can't read the writing on the wall...the race is over...and won't find a gracious way to leave the race.

If the situation was reversed, Clinton would be demanding Obama drop out, and she would be perturbed as hell if he was trying to force his way on the ticket when she might be more comfortable with another running mate.

The name "Clinton" should give her no special rights to break up the Democratic Party. People say she's earned a right to stay in...she's a Clinton after all. Well, no she hasn't. She has a right to stay in because she put her name on the ballot in the first place. But, exercising that right has foisted on the party the very divisive "highly charged" atmosphere of which RFK, Jr. spoke.

If she had gotten out, gracefully, after NC & Indiana, she wouldn't have made the dumbassed comment that she made yesterday, and she would still have her legacy untainted by such a thoughtless statement.

But, the toothpaste is out of the tube. She can't take it back. To mix metaphors--she can't unring the bell. It's said. And, it's sad.
