Douglas Brinkley on KO: Someone needs to "intervene"
and get Hillary out of the race.

Maybe SNL could do a spoof of "Intervention" this week, with Hillary as the addict.

9. Prof. Brinkley, from Rice, is a respected historian
your comment is sad, really, because you fail to realize the gravity of this moment.

Brinkley wasn't making fun of her in any way.

The truth is that she should have at least suspended her campaign two weeks ago. She should never have tried to employ her stated "nuclear option."

She will not be the nominee, no matter what happens.

13. Yes, and he seemed genuinely sad
that HRC has made such a monumental mess of her candidacy. She has made a muck of things with one gaffe after another, with some help from Bill. I thought they were above this, but sadly, they are not. Brinkley seemed to share the same disappointment. It is so sad to see their legacy shredded in this way - by their own actions.

21. Yes, he did seem sad, didn't he? I noticed that. He appeared genuinely crestfallen.
As though there'd been a death in the family. That was the timbre of almost the entire "Countdown."

It's not sexist. I'm one of the last of the red-hot feminists. And I don't see sexism here. Now maybe if that idiot lout chris matthews had been in his usual "fine form," there'd be a legitimate sexism bone to pick. But there hasn't been. At least not lately. At least none that I can see.

15. You're right, it's not sexism, it's stupidity. Douglas Brinkley is suppose to be an historian,
but apparently an intervention is needed to prevent a Presidential candidate from finishing her party's primary, which ends in two weeks. Two f'ing weeks. Why is there need for an intervention? And surely Mr. Brinkley has some historical perspective when it comes to primary races. I don't remember him calling for an intervention during the Carter/Kennedy primary contest, or the Bush/Reagan primary contest. Or primary contests further in the past. Only this one, because King Barack's coronation needs to take place as soon as possible!

18. Because now that she has been blocked by the math, she just announced that her path
is her opponent's assassination and that is why she is staying in?

Even she knows she fucked up. Heck, even Taylor Marsh is saying it was a royal fuckup. It may take a week to get it out on the blogger conference call though.

19. They both need super delegates to reach the total needed. Obama needs less. I still don't see what
the problem is with Clinton continuing her campaing for another two weeks, when the contests come to an end.

6. I saw the interview too
it was very good. He looked sad to see her implode. I don't think he sees anything funny about the situation at all. She definitely just destroyed any hope for a nomination as of today.

It's over.

12. I thought he seemed sad too. You could see it on his face and hear it
in his voice.

And his assessment of the seriousness of her comments was spot on.

17. Sorry SNL's finale was last week
Is Jon Stewart in repeats next week or will he be new? I'd love to see what he and Colbert do with this.
