Hillary's RFK remark was simply inapposite and silly.
Her unfortunate reference was part of an attempt to make a comparison between apples and oranges.

It's true that in 1968 and 1992, the nomination was still in play in June. That's because the California primary was in June then. This year, there are three teeny, tiny primaries left. The nomination is not in play. No one is going to win the California primary in June.

There's no need to see anything more than that in her comment in order to recognize it as an attempt to mislead.

1. In 1992 Bill had the nomination in the bag WEEKS before CA in June. Therefore, that
is yet another Hillary STRETCH.

11. Quite true. A stretcher - one of many. The most ridiculous was the Tuzla thang.
But no need to see a dark conspiracy.

2. You just keep havin fun w/your flowers, sweet pea, and leave the RealPolitik to the grownups.
First time I've seen the word "silly" used to describe assasination.

4. Repeat after me: it's not about the assassination.
It's about maintaining the fantasy that because Bill Clinton and Bobby Kennedy won a lot of delegates in June, she has a chance to win in June.

3. "Simply inappropriate" is telling your boss's wife she has a fat ass. "Silly" is drawing it. BUT..
Edited on Fri May-23-08 10:19 PM by Poll_Blind
...bringing up the potential for assassination of your contest rival when there is NO way you can possibly win the contest...well, words like "silly" and "inappropriate" are a magnitude too weak, at least, to describe the matter.

7. The Obama Campaign

is probaly calling Sharpton right now asking him to not blow up. They don't want that to happen.

I'm actually sad that Hillary is going down like this. I would have rather it have been for something else. I'm hoping she makes a redeeming statement tommorow so she can save some face over this.

8. Sharpton doesn't even have to weigh in.
I'm already hearing it from folks who heard Hillary's major fuck-up. Hillary is persona-non-grata right now.

But don't take my word for it. Just wait and see.

9. If one is naive, that is a reasonable viewpoint, but I'm not naive and neither are most here.
You are refusing to see the obvious: Hillary's comments reveal her thinking, and her lack of any ability to see why her comments are highly unacceptable and inappropriate.

Apparently, if someone pisses down your back and tells you it is raining, you believe them. I don't.
