Who the fuck is RFK, Jr.
... to ruin the media's fun this weekend and acknowledge that Hillary's comments about his father were in no way offensive!?

Everyone wanted a witchburning, and that bastard opens his yap and ruins the good, clean fun!

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/05/rfk-jr-says-no.html

“It is clear from the context that Hillary was invoking a familiar political circumstance in order to support her decision to stay in the race through June. I have heard her make this reference before, also citing her husband's 1992 race, both of which were hard fought through June. I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense.”

all he is thinking about is the Senate Seat and defends her without even listening to what she said and is being criticized for.

it's probably intentional on his part because he wouldn't be able to defend her if he heard her.

4. Robert Kennedy, Jr. may be employing the psychological defense mechanisms ...
Edited on Fri May-23-08 10:24 PM by ShortnFiery
of "Repression" and "Intellectualization." RFK, Jr. is NOT READY to permit himself to believe that HRC is THAT conniving. It's what we all (even geniuses) do from time to time: employ psychological defense mechanisms. However, with time, he will distance himself from her. Many of HRCs staunch supporters WILL NOT process the facts and fall-out of her deplorable behavior.

I understand because I didn't want to believe it either. No joke, I adored HRC during the 1990s. I lived in the Officer Housing section of a military base and constantly defended HRC against the most VILE attacks. When we would drive by the WH, I'd quip to my toddler daughter, "Look honey, that's where the President lives with her husband 'Bill.'"

BUT after researching their past behavior, I have to conclude that the Clintons are, in the least "bigots," in that, they've played WEDGE politics during their entire political career.

Please TRY to process the fact that Bill and Hillary Clinton are NOT people of sound moral character?

NO, we should not hate the Clintons, but it's time for our beloved country to MOVE BEYOND the politics of division.

57. Axelrod's work is done.
That was the point - destroy the Clintons with lies and innuendo.

I don't even like the Clintons. Never did.

But Democrats and even independents knew the press was lying about them, and that the Republicans were lying about them, after the impeachment.

Ah, but now they're evil because they didn't fold their tent after Iowa.

Everything Hillary says or does is evil. Bill Clinton was illegitimate because he wasn't supposed to win against a Republican, and Hillary is illegitimate because she continued to run against Obama after the press declared her dead after Iowa. It's unforgiveable.

My god you people are suckers.

8. RFK Jr, very much like his father, is a breath-takingly dedicated and
sincere man.

Among his many cherished issues for which he has sacrificed a very significant amount of time, is the Environment.

He is a New York State resident and one of its most prominent and influential activists, and among his many gifts is that he (again, like his father) speaks for those who are not heard, including not only human beings but living things which have no political voice unless he and others rise to be their advocate.

The Hudson River, for example.

Meaningful reforms and the political clout to enact them often go through the offices of U.S. Senators.

before, albeit not using the word "assassination". I really don't understand why anyone is surprised by this. I think RFK Jr.'s comments are appropriate. I doubt any of the Kennedy's will express outrage by Hillary's comments. That however, makes her strategy for winning the nomination no less appalling. It is not about the Kennedy's. It is about Hillary.

50. Didn't You Know?
The only relevant Kennedys are the ones supporting Obama...not RFK's teenage namesake who was upstairs in the Ambassador Hotel watching his father be assassinated on television...what the hell does HE know? Frickin' poser.

Having been an impressionable and passionate young person at the time of "the big three" of our most infamous 1960s assassinations, and extremely upset by all of them, (as I suspect many DUers were not), I personally don't like to even hear those tragedies mentioned in the context of a political campaign.

I think this is just a totally tasteless, insensitive remark on Clinton's part, and as a supporter of hers I wish to hell she hadn't said it. "Anything can happen" might have sufficed. I don't apologize for her on that count.

However, she's said it more than once and only NOW THE OUTRAGE FLOWS on Obama's behalf. Just scrounging for new ways to diss her. Like Obama himself (or Clinton or McCain or any candidate who has some negative constituency-and they ALL do) doesn't know that this particular monster is already in the living room. Hell, you don't even need that-just a mentally deranged fan-ask John Lennon.

But what do I know? I'm only someone who cried for days when Dr. King and Bobby (and John) were murdered. I'd cry if it happened to Barack, too. And I don't believe for one moment that Hillary looks forward eagerly to his literal demise, which is the REAL sickness of what's being implied.

54. Are you all still talking about this?
Geesh! I was busy watching a fun yet nauseating installment of Indiana Jones.

But I'm glad RFK spoke out about this.

65. RFK Jr is a voice of reason in this alter Obama universe -
- finally, someone who can understand a simple statement without twisting it to somehow apply in a negative fashion to Obama!

66. Apparently all the Kennedys did not agree with RFK Jr...the host on Washington Journal
just read an article from a paper that reported that the Kennedy family in general is furious with Hillary's "gaffe" and that Charlie Rangel made a statement saying it was the "dumbest thing she could have said."

If someone else heard this on WJ, could you please supply the name of the newspaper carrying this article. I missed it. Sorry, washer kicked over into spin cycle when the newspaper was being referenced.

69. Exactly!! Who the fuck is RFK Jr? He's a running joke that wishes he had the influence that .......
his father and uncle once wielded. He's nothing more than a wannabe who wears his jealousy on his sleeve.

80. I think RFK, Jr. would be a good Senator and hope he will run for his father's seat in 2012...
or sooner if the seat opens up due to death, serious illness, indictment or whatever...Cruel, heartless comment about the current Senator? No, not at all, just acknowledging the historical fact that Senators do not always serve out their terms due to various reasons...
