Hillary's "apology"
Edited on Sat May-24-08 07:20 AM by marylanddem
As disturbing as her breezy reference to the possibility of assassination easing her way into the nomination
was her self-serving "apology" to the Kennedys. Is she so daft or full of herself she can't understand the implications of what she said? And THIS is supposedly a viable candidate for President? She is downright stupid.

1. Her weak ass apology was her typical NON apology and all avoidance
This typifies Hillary's biggest problem: she cannot admit making mistakes, and cannot apologize sincerely for doing so. Who does that sound like? One George W. Bush? Hell yeah. It's frightening how much she is like GWB, maybe not on all issues, but on the way they deal with mistakes and criticisms. Neither one thinks they ever do anything wrong.

3. She understands EXACTLY what she said..and what she didn't say.
This is not the first time she has said it, she said almost the same exact thing in March but I guess people weren't paying enough attention for her. So I guess by her apology to the Kennedy's she was thinking of them in March as well or is that another lie going to slip by the radars?

I think even more telling was the apology she did not offer to the Barack Obama family for the insinuations.

4. I was mystified by that, as well
Now, I don't believe Hillary was either hoping for or calling for something bad to happen to Sen. Obama, but her phrasing to that editorial board did leave that implication in the air. When she apologized, I was surprised that she seemed to focus on the Kennedy family as that seemed to miss the point of the implication that was in her statement. I'd hope she realized after the fact what her statement had been construed as by many, but it was odd that she almost didn't seem to get that during her apology.

7. Wasn't even much of an apology.
Nothing there that admitted she'd really done something wrong. Just sorry if you took it that way. That's weak.

5. No apology was/is necessary. She did nothing wrong.

6. I don't think I've ever heard a real apology from her
It's always cagey, careful, "if you were offended..." stuff.

Not with the IWR, not with this. That speaks volumes to me about the character of a person. I respect a person who can just apologize, admit their wrong-doing and really apologize. It would have been a good start for her after this.

8. I liked the silent commentary
of the liquor bottles behind her. They nicely heightened the unreality of a mind-roastingly unreal campaign season. Good choice, Hil.

11. Ow, my lying eyes
You're right. She was rebuked by bacon bits, not Jose Cuervo. Thanks for the correction :)

9. And she didn't apologize to Obama or his supporters
There is a genuine fear of something tragic happening to Obama. As bad as the remark was, the fact that she was incapable of apologizing directly to Obama or his supporters just shows even more how callous she is.

13. "Historical Fact"
there are ways to say things, and there are ways to say things. As a medical student we'll taught the power of how framing the same data in a different context can have a different effect on the patient. Like saying that a patient has a 70% chance of survival vs. saying they have a 30% chance of dying.
