1. You left out another option
My best friend doesn't believe in voting. He thinks its stupid so he supports no one no matter how much I harp on him.

2. Good question. Great discussion-starter.
Thank you.

For us, it breaks down this way:

2 are Obama supporters from the git-go.

1 is for Hillary from the git-go, but also liked Edwards.

2 more are Edwards or Biden and now Obama supporters.

We are Edwards/Biden and now Obama as well.

5. Well, since Hillary re-recorded "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,"
She has no supporters here. :D :hi:

13. I thought she re-recorded DESPERADO?
"Desperado"

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?

You been out ridin' fences for so long now

Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons

These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get

Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

3. I only know 1 Clinton supporter, and...he's gone 'round the bend
Apparently he was ranting the other day about how Obama becoming president is the worst thing that could ever happen, and how he fears that Obama will work to "undermine the white middle class"

Sad, really.

8. Somebody at work is insisting "Denzel Washington will be at the White House all the time"
I looked at him with a "you have GOT to be kidding me" stare and said "Your point?"

Nothing.

12. I'm so glad this didn't happen to my mom. She was borderline after Iowa. A couple weeks ago...
I overheard her and another old lady from the neighborhood talking about the election and the phrase "What the hell is she doing?" came up.

4. My best friend is leaning more and more towards Obama
She isn't a political animal like I am but she loves Hillary. And the more she learns, the more Hillary is losing her support. And I am certain she will vote for Obama if he gets the nomination.

10. Unfortunately
You left out another choice. McCain. I know..... It sucks but I think he is one of the choices.:eyes:

Me: Obama (I don't count but added it for clarity)
Friend 1 (husband): Obama
Friend 2: Obama
Friend 3: McCain
Friend 4: Obama
Friend 5: McCain

I try to not like my republican friends but I can't quit being their friend. I did stop talking with them except polite hello's for about 2 years though.

19. Work on those McCain friends.
I talked two of my friends into voting for the libertarian candidate in 2004. ;)

Get them to vote for the libertarian this year because a McCain presidency will be a 3rd Bushler term, and America will go bankrupt, be in perpetual war, and they'll pay $8.00 per gallon to drive on crumbling roads.

18. Five Obama Supporters
All supported Edwards or Kuchinich first. One, me, sat on the fence a long, long time.

21. All five of them are Obama supporters. None supported him first.
My partner, my two teenage sons, my mother, and my ex-husband are the five people I know best. All five support Obama. None of us supported Obama at first. My teenage sons aren't old enough to vote. The other three will definitely vote Obama in the GE.

I don't know a single person who still supports Hillary. That's huge, as I live in a liberal college town. My friends and I are strong feminists.

Even my fifth-generation Republican, extreme Christian right co-worker is planning to vote for Obama in the GE here in North Carolina, as is her mother.

As someone rather ambivalent about both candidates, I stand out.

27. All 5 for Obama, despise Hillary
Edited on Sat May-24-08 01:46 PM by LucyParsons
Mother - liberal independent, Obama supporter, despises Hillary
Father - Republican, voted for Hillary in the E Texas Dem primary, is racist, will vote for McCain in November
Stepmother - see above
Boyfriend - registered Green, Obama supporter, despises Hillary
Best friend - registered Republican, libertarian philosophically, Obama supporter (considered being a delegate, even), despises Hillary

Texas has open primaries. Many counties still only have viable Dem primaries, so Republicans vote in them if they care about local offices.
